Rahman Rezaei, 1 Question for u

Rahman Rezaei is currently at the age of 31, By 2010 World cup he will be 35

Now this is the question i want u to answer, If Rezaei can keep himself fit and continue playing in Italian Top Flight soccer would u want him to go on untill 2010 World Cup

If i have to give my opinion on this part i would actually be saying Yes cause by 2010 i can imagine 3 of our 4 defenders will be very young

So i would say Rezaei would be by then what every defence in the world probably have, an experienced defender who is like a leader

And that for us will still remain to be Rezaei even if we manage to send more defenders out to Europe

Now i want ur view on this, Would u still want Reazaei to be in the iranian defence line by 2010 if he can keep himself in a constant starting Eleven in a Europen club and continue playing consistently ?

i know our defence players will improve but i just cant see leaving a defender of Rezais quality out, Even at age of 35 many defenders in the world can be useful

it really depends on his shape m8, i have thought about that myself and i think if he is in good shape he will be a great leader in our defence..
and im sure if hes not, hes a very bagheirat person, he is the first to make place for the youngsters

Rezaei will decided on his future after World cup, he said on Navad that he will stay in Italy and that he still have 1 more year with Messina but do not have to fulfill the remaining of his contract and that he wants to stay in Serie A and that offers have come up,

If he can keep himself in top class soccer In Italy cause we have some fantastic defenders coming up even tho i belive Nosrati will be a perfect replacement for Yahya when he retires in Central defence cause Nosrati IS A very good defender when being played in Central

then i see defenders such as Mirtoroghi,Montazeri,Sadegi,Hosseini etc all fighting to get a starting spot in team melli

Say bye to all over 30 players, till next WCQ, then see if you have younger players who could prove himself during next three years.

mmmm, I may say, even no Karimi, Kia, Hashemian for next Asian Cup.

As i said in another post, Team Melli seriously needs to start thinking about what they are going to do in the coming years. This world cup was the perfect chance for Iran to do well and progress to the next round because their core of European players were at the perfect age and at the height of their abilities. This will not be the case at the 2010 world cup. Rezaei will be 35, Hashemian 34, Kia 32, Karimi 31, Zandi 31. So really these players will be past their best and if they want to stay in Europe they will most likely have to retire from international football in order for clubs to be willing to keep them.

Personally I think that Hashemian might announce his retirement from the national team after the world cup and wouldn't be surprised to see Rezaei announce his retirement either after the world cup or after the Asian cup. Team Melli needs to start bringing through the next generation of Iranian footballers to take over from Kia, Hash, Zandi, Karimi and Rezaei. And with players like Shojaei, Oladi, Teymoorian, Madanchi, Borhani and Hosseini I don't see why we can't have another generation like the one we have now. But the key is to let them take over from the older generation sooner rather than later. Otherwise we may have another Golmo/Daei situation in 4 years time.

I dont think we will have Kia,karimi or hashemain for the Asian cup

I think we will play in the Asian cup with a bunch of very young players but we will have karimi, kia etc returining for the 2010 world cup

I also belive its all upto the coach, with a right coach iran can have such depht

by THEN if he is good enough for Serie A and plays there then he'll be good enough for TM. it comes down to his shap, will he be fast enough?

also: TM should alwasy look for replacements. the team must be changed where no one's, NO ONE'S spots should be guaranteed as it is now...
thus if there is no one better then why not! otherwise no...
