Queiroz teams' common denominator: Negative style of football

Eight years was enough, let's not try that again!

Queiroz, who was appointed national team boss in September, oversaw a mixed campaign at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, as Egypt reached the final, but were criticized for their conservative and negative tactical style. It seemed that under Queiroz, Egypt often played an overly-defensive style that looked to keep games scoreless. Throughout the entire AFCON tournament, Egypt scored just four goals across its seven matches despite the presence of Ballon d'Or candidate Salah.

With the team at our disposal—which contrary to most people, I am not particularly confident in given we haven't been sufficiently challenged—we should optimize for results vs. performance. Playing this same style of football, we were one simple Taremi side-foot away from the 2nd round. We finished with 4 points, our best ever tally—in arguably a more difficult group vs. the world cup in Brazil.

If we have 2 0-0 draws, with the headlines deeming our games the most boring of the world cup, and a dinky 1-0 win off a messy set piece where we can't tell how the goal was scored without a replay, you'll find me dancing on the moon.
We thank and support Mr.Kamran Delan for many years of dedication and service to Iranian Football Community.
