Do we need to play with Arab states when not necessary

It seems to me that tm does not gain anything from playing with the Arab states when not necessary. In fact I believe it may be detrimental to our football in the long run as our players get use to being screwed out of rightly deserved football matches.

Already on this board we see many members who say it is perfectly fine that we did not win and we see the same mentality from teh announcers on IRIB. There is no doubt in my mind that this is also a policy of teh IFF or they would appeal such games directly to FIFA

This is not acceptable. The Japanese have a goal to win the world cup in the next fifty years. We are already accepting that we do not deserve to win a minor cup. Why because we are Irani and not Arab. The mentality of our team should be to win every match we compete in no matter if we test new players or not. But, we see that we are already accepting defeat, just as we did at the Asia cup and there is a good posibility we will also accept it if such an incident happens at the World Cup.

We do have other options available. For one we could join the central asian nations, whose football will progress rapidly in the coming years and yes even surpass that of the Arabs, with many of their players playing in the former soviet nations (Ukraine and Russia.)

There is also clear historical and genetic ties between Iran and the central asian peoples. Many Iranid peoples have occupied land in central asia such as the Scynthians, Sarmatians, Serbs and Croats, Afghan, Tajik, and Uzbek. And although these peoples may not be pure Iranid today neither are our links to Syria, Iraq or Lobnon pure. The only clear cut differece is that we would not be getting discriminated against on a constant basis.

Secondly, we must fire the IFF, and bring in a director who has expierence and a clear plan and will take offense to such actions being done to his nation (and in effect to his people.)

Calm down aziz. These WAG matches have nothing to do with FIFA. They are inofficial matches. But I agree Iran should consider even participating in such tourneys in future. What's the benefit of playing against timewasters who are backed by the ref.

Martin jaan, I know, but I don't like anybody abusing Iran, and they do it constantly so I am pissed.

The primary reason we lost today was that we did not have enough Foolad component in the team. Even in the main TM, since Branko reduced the # of Foolad players after qualification in June, we have not been getting as many wins anymore. I am really serious about this. Believe it or not, Foolad players have the correct kind of mentality and the technical ability that is needed for high stress matches and PK shoot outs. We have a tendancy to lose it psychologically when the going gets tough. The counter-evidence was of course the Busan 2002 games when there was a strong Foolad component in U-23. In any event, today I was reading your posts in the live match thread while the game was on, and almost everyone showed a horrible defeatist mentality, even before the match was going into the extra time. This mental fear is exactly what I am talking about.
