Maybe, but even then they would still have a clear advantage. I think it is more fair for other teams in the league now that many have moved away from Tehran. That being said, I don't think Sepahan and Zob Ahan receive the credit they deserve. Yes Esteghlal and Pirouzi have been great teams, but so have these two. If you look at the results from the past couple of years, I don't think any of them have really dominated each other, they've been pretty equal in their head to head matches.

You are ignorant. 100k in stadium call it Persepolis. People on the streets call it Persepolis. Even TV commentators call it Persepolis.

I'm glad someone finally understood. I remember seeing a post a few years ago where someone was called a hezbollahi for calling the team pirouzi and I couldn't but help see the irony in that. If the team was called al-futuh or something like that before the revolution and pirouzi after, these same people would call you a hezbollahi and arab parast for using pirouzi and not al-futuh.

I just find it amusing that every time I use the name Pirouzi there are people who just can't hold back their comments and have no response when you give them the "Pirouzi is Persian, true aryan....yadda yadda...." argument.

I guess I enjoy the stupidity of the whole thing.

I'm not placing any blame on them. My only point was that I don't find their record impressive over the years given the advantage they had. If Sepahan and Zob Ahan weren't up there with them, it would be a different story.

Hopefully Sepahan and Zobahan both will keep it up in their ACL group stage matches, and make us all proud. I really want an Iranian team to reach the finals this time around, although it seems like an almost impossible task!

Honestly this year in IPL no other team than Sepahan deserves the league title!

Still early to say but the signs are there nobody can challenge Sepahan. Zobahan's lack of depth means they can't follow their good form all season.
