I always thought cheshmi would start this match, most others didn’t so I think that might be a part of the the surprise. I think jalali starting could be a part of it too…..we shall see!

I wish he would not say this. Now that there have been interviews with British media the English team may be aware of unexpected.

also, it’s no good to know we have a mole in the squad or coaching staff.

i appreciate gol bezan and all they do but we should not give our opponent even a millimetre of advantage as we are severe underdogs

We must hold England scoreless in the first half, they will mentally collapse in the second half after underestimating us, and feeling the pressure from their toxic fans & the physical heat. We will win 2-0, Taremi & Ansarifard will score

I think the surprise will be 3 CBs:

              Beiravand

              Moharrami - Pooraliganji - Kaanani - Hosseini - Hajsafi

              Ezzatolahi

              Jahanbaksh - Ghoddos - Torabi

              Taremi

It's possible he plays Shoja over Pooraliganji, but my gut says he won't trust Shoja enough for this particular matchup.

And with the wing backs, he'll take away the sides, space, speed for Sterling and Foden to service Kane inside.

                -------------------------Beiro---------------------
                Moharrami---Shoja-Kanani-Majid---Milad
                ARJ--------Ezatolahi---Nourollahi---Ghoddos/Amiri
                -----------------------Taremi-------------------

Were gonna park it. Potential inclusion of hajsafi as CM instead of Nour. I somehow also dont think 5 at the back is as unlikely as people think. In Azmoun's absence we really do not have another offensive player capable of troubling them to the same extent, might be better to just use that on a defensive player to create more congestion. We have 3 solid CBs, and Moharrami's performances as RWB in CL games have been commendable. Milad is also fairly well suited suited to the LWB role, playing there regularly for Gent in EL.

                  Agreed.

Milmo also have the speed to go toe to toe whit foden and raheem.

But i rather see Ezza and Ghoddos pairing, Ghoddos can defend and is a better offensive player than ahmad

Milad Mohammadi would not suit this game. I would rather use Hajsafi who's far more physical and better in air than Milad.

We finally succeed against them because their style match us well. They don't play too fast and/or too physical. Their teams aren't too tall either for us. Only individual brilliance (Messi/Quaresma) and unforced sootis/bad luck (Spain/referee) could help them.

But damn, England has the physical, fast play and european experience and nazm to break our bus. Only Southgate, Maguire, some injuries and their tradition of choking can give us some hope.

Sweden (2015 loss) was physical but not necessary too fast. Uruguay (2022 win) was physical but slow af. Japan (2019 loss) is not physical but quite fast.
Thought about this today, Iran used to play like crap against minnow nations such as Lebanon, Syria, Bahrain, maybe because they thought it would be a walkover and did not have to put in their A game (or maybe because they were told to spare their muslim brothers, not sure), but always step up and play the best football against likes of Argentina, Spain and Portugal, since: there's not pressure on them to win, no expectations, so they can play more relaxed, which turns out to be better for them. Just not getting smashed, which they have succeeded in 👏.

                            Arj, Amiri, Ezza, Cheshmi, Torabi
                            Taremi

BUT my teambalance may be off, could change cheshmi for Nouro or Ghoddos alt Azmoun as striker instead. Arj needs turnover backup thats why i put Amiri at the same side, but that leaves ezza and cheshmi as possibly to slow pair? Havnt seen cheshmi plat for years though so its a wild guess.. would rather have amiri with haji and torabi instead but.. hard one to decide.
Maybe play 4 2 3 1 ? With arj, amiri and torabi in front of the two cdm.. but would aswell be to devastating for our offense and make the team collapse and fall on the defenders way to close to our own penalty area. We cant be falling back to much either

I also understand better why our legionnaires in England don't succeed well so far

havent seen it frankly. Most analysis I have read from american, british, other international sources has been quite respectful of TM.

Even espnfc in their official preview for the group predicted Iran to go through. Merson on Sky talking up Queiroz and Taremi, Walter Zenga, etc, etc.
