It is a disgrace, when Iraq and GCC countries insult Iranians by using an imaginery name instead of Persian Gulf, yet FFIRI continues to beg Iraq and Qatar for friendly match or national camp

FFIRI has begged Iraq to come to Tehran for friendly match, Iraqis said they accept friendly match only if it is going to be played in Baghdad.

Why can't FFIRI host a 4-nation tournament Nowruz Cup with Team Melli, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan for the March friendlies period? Last year Uzbekistan hosted it successfully (with participants Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and invitee being Uganda).

So based on this podcast (which used to be huge CQ fans)... the player that IFF really wanted to join the TM squad was Omid Noorafkan. CQ refused and said I'll take 25 players instead of inviting him.

        Old story now but stubborn.

Noorafkan, Ghaedi, mohebi, Moghanlou missing the world cup was the best WC move

I really don't like Noorafkan's play - he was in very poor form at that point too, but it was very wrong by CQ to not include 26 players.

Well Roozbeh Cheshmi pulled one out of no where so only God knows what Noorafkan might of done lol. Certainly more chance of something than 4 GKs!

Noorafkan didn’t deserve to go to the WC.

Only an idiot would invite 25 players including 4 GK!!
Basically we had 21 players (excluding GK) while the rest of the teams had 23.

He could have brought 2 attacking players who could have helped us in the last game vs USA. Instead he decides to bring 1 extra GK( for what exactly?) and leave an empty spot.

He cost us the WC22, just like he cost us the 4 previous tournaments. Fucking unbelievable.

Neither did CQ. What is your point?

in all honesty he deserved it much more MilMo and few others..!! sure he aint got much of defensive qualities in him .. but he is pretty damn brilliant pushing up the pitch in a more attacking role..! its not his fault idiot coaches keep round-hole/square pegging him and keep lining him up in CD/LB roles..!!

also, too many here have shown the tendencies to completely write off a player, just because he had a sootie or 2..! they did the same shitt with Amir abedzadeh too..!! :/

and indeed in retrospect CQ certainly didnt deserve to take TM to WC as well..!! in my view, the biggest justification for switching so late from Eskoocher to CQ was to nip in the butt the blatantly evident disharmony amongst the TM camp pre WC but Carlito clearly failed to put about a Unified front and instead himself played pity favorites and further divided the squad in camp.... his dodgy starting Line-up in our first WC game was clear proof of that and off course shitt went further down hill from there..!
i still have PTSD from anticipation of our starting line-up announcement at WC22...!!!

Noorafkan is only good at once thing, faking is level and appearing good against crappy side. The guy couldn't even make into a crappy charleroi team. His game against Algeria B team was a summary of this player.

At least Milmo didn't hide himself behind some goal against amateur IPL and took the risk to be exposed in better league.
Btw all recent Iranian players of charleroi could transfer to another European team, the exception is Noorafkan. The guy is so bad that he is switching position every two days..

Team Melli's FIFA friendlies for March are as follow:

Iraq vs Team Melli (8 Farvardin 1402 / 28 March 2023) either in Baghdad or Qatar.

Qatar vs Team Melli (?? March 2023) in Qatar if CQ agrees to such friendly.

I personally would have like to see matches arranged with non-Arab teams (or at least if Arab be from outside of the Persian Gulf region). Such a shame that FFIRI or Iranians generally lack national pride and dignity.

Japan and Russia, both asked for friendly with Team Melli, what FFIRI has been doing?!!!

So many teams such as Cameroon, Uruguay, Chile, Paraguay, Georgia, Albania, Venezuela, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Vietnam, South Africa, Liberia, Burundi, Namibia, Chad are all available in March.

Even Pakistan, Afghanistan, Indonesia, East Timor, Brunei, Mongolia, Bangladesh, Macau would have been interesting friendly matches for non-capped or inexperienced players.

Some teams only have one friendly in March so would be available for second friendly such as Morocco, likes of South Korea, Uzbekistan that Team Melli usually meets in friendlies are also available for one match.

He is god awful 50% of the time in PGPL, 90% of the time in ACL matches, and almost 100% of his TM performances have been utter crap minus one good game (vs Iraq or Syria) plus one or two good offensive cameos, that’s literally it. He is one of the worst quality footballers I have ever seen wear a TM shirt…..CQ made the right call on that one although I wish he would have given that spot to a promising youngster to at least be there for the experience where it would have benefited us in the future.
