CQ has many friends and contacts in US soccer and was considered for the USMNT manager. He has been and will be diplomatic.
We are seeing the best and the worst of CQ.
Not admitting mistakes, not taking responsibility for loss, stubbornness. Add to that being out of touch and yet vocal regarding Iran's political situation and what the people want.
The Klinsman diversion was a gift of the gods to him. Finally finding a faux focus to direct anger and raise motivation.
His game plan against Wales was great and effective whereas he contributed to the failure against England.
But the biggest problem we had were the players themselves, distracted, uncertain and disorganized. The loss focused them...they learned that the only way to have success at home, now being labeled as the IR team, was to do the one thing they knew how to do...play football.
CQ going with Hosseini as GK was genius...a real injection of confidence to the keeper...same with bringing on Cheshmi.,. giving him redemption.
The players will be motivated against USA, for different reasons...win against the enemy of IR or win back the people.
Will be more motivated than if not in this situation of purgatory.

However, I realized that he is unstable.
His goal celebration vs Iran at 1998 World Cup was full on he wanted to tear the net. Was it due to extreme hatred towards Iran? Minute 1:12 of the youtube video.

Then he donated money to Earthquake Victims in Iran

He also thanked Iranians for great hospitality

Then in 2019, he was one of the candidates for Head Coach position of Iran national team

Over the past decade plus, I thought Klinsmann was just a grumpy individual. Now it probably makes sense why Matthaus and Klinsmann were not getting along, maybe it was more than a rivalry for being captain of Germany national team.
Now after what he said about Iran vs Wales, I now see him as a racist due to his disgusting comments. Maybe he was promised Head Coach job in Iran but then Football Federation backed off, so his hatred towards Iran and Iranians intensified.
