It is over! It is important to remember this!
CQ had his own reasons for his team selection and we won't find out about it for years if ever.
Meanwhile anyone who had a bone to pick with him, every player who was not picked, every Iranian coach, and many of us also will continue to blast him in the days and months to come.
It is very unprofessional for the professionals but Iranians will engage in that because we have a culture of blame.
In the days to come we will hear a lot of complaining...but really we are in the middle of an uprising and the government tried to take advantage of the team to its own benefit.
It would take an extraordinary team to ignore everything that was going on, including being called Bisharaf in the middle of an international game and come back to do something it has never done before.

He's just pissed CQ didn't play him in WC 2018. Embarrassing and petty.

Sadly CQ has tuned into a one trick pony ! He uses two tactics to a game and fails to see how well one tactic. Defend like thier is no tomorrow. Second tactic defend and lose Possession!
But when he uses and unleashes faster more nimble players. Things change and we actually dominate and score !
He should have tweaked the wales game tactics and added Torabi Ghodoos and kanani. Plus Abolfazl. They would have defended well and fed Taremi and Azmoudeh way better for at least a draw !! For god sakes. Just a
draw !!!

Poor Skocic, took over a losing team, turned things around, gave us the easiest qualification ever, and in the meantime, became the winningest TM coach ever, and we still "blamed" him here. I honestly don't remember if you were one of the few supporters of Skocic or if you were blaming him and wanted him out. Just curious.
Knowing the Iranian psyche, it was always clear that some players will rebel against Skocic. Iranians obey those who they consider superior and rebel against those who are not known/famous/Western/respected by foreigners etc.
I have said here that IFF should have kept Skocic until qualifications and then look for someone else. Going to WC with Skocic would be repeating the 2006; scenario. Ali Karimi vs Ali Daei, inflighting as soon as we lost. Not that Skocic might not have produced a better line up...but by game 2, after a bruising loss, he would have lost the boys completely. CQ had enough control to produce an excellent response to a terrible loss.
I have also said that once Skocic was kept, then he should have been supported by IFF...that would shut up dissenters like Taremi...but of course IFF itself was in complete shambles.
One thing was clear from the outset...we were in deep doodoo as soon as the Wilmouts disaster unfolded. But miracles do happen so we all kept faith.
What was totally unpredictable was the uprising/revolution and how that divided the loyalties of the fans.
There were people in many towns in Iran yesterday that went out and celebrated Iran's loss at considerable risk to themselves. You've got to think that some strong emotions were there and TM felt it. Skocic could not fix that any better than CQ and probably a lot worse too.
CQ and his tactics were one factor in our loss but a much bigger factor was the underperformance of the players themselves. They made so many erroneous passes it was embarrassing. We are not good as a team and didn't belong in the next round. Skocic could not fix that any more than CQ.
Ezzatolahi playing in Danish 2nd league without a preseason...what a fiasco. And an idiot, a complete idiot (did you read his Instagram post today?....what a moron)
Jahanbakhsh is a shadow of himself.
War in Ukraine ruined zahedi's slim chances
Sayyadmanesh, our only other bright spot outside injured
Azmoun never got going in BL and then injured.
Our top three keepers wilted completely on the international stage. Enter Hosseini with no international experience.
HajSafi too old and Karim moving on to a joke league in the twilight of his career to be close to his family.
Hosseini not progressing out of Turkey stuck in a small team for years. Karimi joining him and injured too.
Rezaie career took a dive. Gholi on again off again. Milad off again off again.
Saman... perpetual bench warmer.
Taremi, our one true star also a brainless idiot... always having a storm of controversy following him... every time he opens his mouth he he puts his foot in it.
With this crew we were not going to make the world sit up and notice. Not in normal circumstances and certainly not in these difficult times. I'd love to hear what threats the players faced that made them start singing the IR anthem. That must have had an effect.

Koroosh Jan, thank you for a great recap of the last 18 months of TM. 100% agree with every word. I wish people could realize that there is a cost to turmoil. I wish Taremi had not caused turmoil in the team and maybe we would have learned some new lessons this WC, but as it is, we learned same old lessons again.
