I don’t get the renard interest. Is he on a hot seat with Saudi Arabia or something? If not then there’s a 0% chance we can poach him if that’s what’s allegedly going on….after their WC performance and dominance in their WCQ campaign they would not let him leave

It's corruption, mismanagement, and sanctions. What a trinity of devastation for the Iranian people.
Either way, highly doubt Renard leaves. It's one of those "InshaAllah" moments that the IRIFF is famous for. In the same category as the "deal is 99% confirmed" statements (but somehow, the 1% always seems to win out). 🤦♂️"This is a totalitarian system whose presence people feel in their blood and in their flesh on a daily basis. And it’s one that does not grant freedoms of any kind, or accommodate people’s demands in any way. What is increasingly clear is that there is clear demand for change in the regime. What the people want is regime change, and no return to the past. There is a very real possibility of regime change." - Nasrin Sotoudeh

Just a reminder that we had ARJ score in Eredivisie, Sardar assist/hit the post/earn a PK in BL, and will have Taremi play in CL in the running for CL golden boot...all in the span of 4 days.
We have talented players, passionate fans, and dedicated coaches (ie recently departed CQ). What we lack is a competent government and football federation that can actually do its job (due to cronyism, corruption, incompetence, lack of interest, irresponsibility, self-interest, blah, blah, blah). Add to that the constant stress our players, fans, and people are under with 80 million in an open air prison that does target practice with defenseless civilians and puts women in cages, and it's no wonder we can't excel in any major tournament. TM is a microcosm of all of Iran. TM can't succeed unless Iran succeeds.

moharam was a clever footballer, wonder if he is a decent coach too..?
has khatibi reputation yet recovered from that miss at wc..?
never cared much for that bachekooni e soosool majidi..!
Vahid has all the required coaching credentials but he is also such a uninspiring and boring dud..!!
the other 2 sounds more like the only legit candidates seeking the job, due to lack of alternatives, and most likely to put up with all bs that comes along with it..!?

Team Melli vs Iraq might get cancelled.
Russia has said Yes to Iraq for friendly match, Iraq wanted them to come to Baghdad, but Russia proposed March 27 in Moscow.
https://mobile.twitter.com/IraqFootb...31421594886146
So at the moment, only friendly would be Team Melli vs Russia on March 23 if that doesn't get cancelled.
Available teams without friendlies are Indonesia, Vietnam, Venezuela, North Korea, Afghanistan, Timor Leste, Macau, Sri Lanka. FFIRI should hurry Indonesia is desperately looking for friendly match, Venezuela or Vietnam would be good options too. Other teams would be good options too for inexperienced players, however most likely those teams probably plan not to have any friendly matches during March.
FFIRI last choice would be Qatar who is also without any friendly match.
