    hatam is usually accurate but I think he’s wrong on these. The sports ministries suggested friendlies but the federations are the ones who have to actually assess and confirm if it works out.

    septemebr is already the Jordan Qatar Iraq tournament from what I understand.

            Match with Azerbaijan is for Women's national team.

            FIFA days are for 18-26 September (Max matches: 2), 23-31 October (Max matches: 2)

            Venezuela is fully booked this year has no available days. Anyways Minister of Sport of Venezuela said he will talk to their football federation to check calendar. So any friendly matches will be in 2024. However women's teams can play if they choose to.

            Iranians usually just make proposals to various countries without checking scheduled calendars. For Example for CAFA they wanted to get Belarus as invitee not knowing that Belarus has no free days.

            Iranian media usually misunderstand things, for example last year Kamranifar was talking about Futsal team mentioned Brazil and Argentina, the media reported FFIRI wants to get them for friendlies with national football team. Now they are doing the same, Azerbaijan is for women's national team, they claim it is for men's national team

            FFIRI has negotiated with Turkey for September, media reported that Turks said they don't have free days which is not true. So fingers crossed let's not believe the Iranian news reports, we might see a friendly match between Team Melli and Turkey, with other match possibly with an African team.

              So best Team Melli can do is to setup matches with Austria, CONCACAF Teams such as Mexico, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Panama, Honduras, Haiti or CAF teams such as Senegal, Algeria, Cameroon, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Mali, DR Congo, Ghana.

              Other than Austria, UEFA teams available are Moldova, Malta and Gibraltar.

                Doubt Austria will want to play IR, taking the recent political situation into consideration. Especially since it will have to be IN Austria, we'll see another Canada case.

                      We have to have a country who is ranked below us , but still in the top 50 team in the world to play us , so it is an incentive for them to improve their rankings

                          Sports news in Iran said a couple of days ago that we are playing Venezuela and Azerbaijan apparently.

                            I hope we could play against a stronger European team or anyone be better than Azerbaijan, Venezuela is a good option but still we need more variety, why not Paraguay or Mexico or Poland or Hungary ??
