The worst defensive performance I’ve ever seen from Iran in my entire life. That being said, it’s easy to pile on the negatives. But let’s look at the positives (although few):

-We actually scored a goal from open play
-We only lost the 2nd half 3-2
-We had 1 player score a brace (Taremi)
-The lethality of Azmoun is apparent (hitting the crossbar)

CQ gambled on the lineup and lost. Lost badly. Our normal starting lineup would not have given up 6 goals. Not a chance. Casual team melli fans may not know that, but we know the truth.

However, I always thought our World Cup begins with Wales, and now it’s true more than ever. We HAVE to beat them. Uruguay template.

All I can say is maybe Wales and USA think Iran will be easy and overlook us??
But from the very beginning, that lineup was very odd and just not right.
CQ messed up there.. You need to play with the guys that got you there.
Kanani, Ezza, Amiri, and even Jalali should've started over guys like Cheshmi, Milmo, Karimi.
Hoping Beiro is healthy for the next game.. It shows now how clear cut better he is than our other keepers.

I'm shocked how good Danish commentators have been this time, they actually praised Taremi, and said he would have banged in 3 goals if he played for England. They were right, these 2 guys can perform, but just gets horrible play from the rest fo the team..

CQ made a huge blunder when he and ten of players met with the mass murderer who will go down in our history in a place only comparable to Genghis Khan of Mongolia, Hitler and Stalin; after that this team lost its national identity and became "teameh jomhooreeheh eslami". Gestures by Hajsafi and not singing the national anthem today were just back peddling. The disastrous starting lineup was just a technicality, CQ and his cohorts lost before they even showed up on the pitch. My heart is broken for the families who lost so many in Javanrood and Piranshahr in just the last 24 hours. I feel sorry for all of us Iranian football fans and I am in pain.

I have been a diehard Carlos supporter and this was the most useless tactic he’s ever employed. Shame on him, Mohammadi, Pouraliganji, Cheshmi, Ali Karimi, Hosseini, Hossein Hossieni, REALLY?! Why would this fucking work?! No press, only filling space against this fast of an opponent?

I have never seen our team give up like how they did, closest was the Japan game. You think you can give up against England?
