I have faith that Iran is going to protest tomorrow because I've been thinking about it a lot. Most athletes in Iran that have protested had a stage to do it at where everyone would see the way they protested, But where was Iran going to protest? In a game against Nicaragua or Uruguay with no fans and no cameras, what would be the point? Sure, they could go to their Instagram and then it gets locked off and then you don't go to the World Cup. I still don't see the point of not playing the World Cup. What if though you get there and that's your biggest stage/platform and you make a statement in front of the entire world. Is that not using your platform for the greater good of the cause, no? Basically you kiss ass and behave so you don't get left off the roster. Make it to the tournament and make a big opening statement where no one can unsee it? I have faith. They need this platform, mainstream media only cares about Elon's Twitter drama. Some of my friends still don't understand how serious things are in Iran and some don't even know we're protesting. It's truly sad, but this is the state to finally get the world's attention.

Other people here have mentioned this team doesn't support IR etc. My remark in this exact forum is no different. This isn't political, it's an opinion in hopes the irrational fans saying they won't support them etc this isn't their team etc will eat their words tomorrow. I'm supporting no matter what. It's directly correlated to the topic about supporting this team and we all know why we're having this discussion and sure it sucks but it's the reality and a lot of these "fans" are absolute clowns.
