I just ask one thing, that we on this forum stay united a bit in our support of this team and the players. Some of them deserve major criticism, as does CQ, but there is a line. For one more week we need to maintain some unity. After that everything will be fair game anyways.

Now about the football itself:

CQ's lineup was wrong. I don't think the formation was wrong, but the players picked were absolutely off. Why pick such slow, immobile players? Why break up the CB duos that work? 80% of the game is on CQ.

The rest was just bad luck, combined with a very effective and efficient England team. England took their chances beautifully. Hosseini Hosseini isn't as good as Beiranvand, but he isn't that bad either. He completely got caught up in the moment and coulndn't handle his nerves. He hardly came off his line.

Majid Hosseini was atrocious today as well. He made PAG look good!

Positive for me was that when we did attack we were quite good. We have quick players with alot of skill who can find each other. We need to nurture and support that.

We need Amiri and Ghodoos in next game. Torabi (yes, I'm aware of his shitty politics) is very good at this level.
Ezatollahi must be off form because he looked gassed even with only 20 minutes.


We have to win the next 2. Yes there are other permutations, but that way it's in our own hands. I hope CQ opens his eyes and compromises a bit on the conservatism. TM has to open up a bit. Yes we get exposed, but set it up in a way that we can counter and score. The team has the ability.

Taremi was excellent. World class player who is going to waste in TM because the rest of the team can't play like him.

CQ can be ruthlessly pragmatic, and thought we would surely lose against England. However, he definitely did not expect us to let in 3 goals by halftime with his unusual lineup. Hence, all the substitutions in the 2nd half.

He overestimated the abilities of Cheshmi and Karimi. The icing was Beiranvand getting knocked out.

Point is, im sure CQ has learned a lot from this game. Better to make mistakes against a vastly superior opponent, than to make them against winnable teams like Wales and USA.

Also, I am confident this team can score against ANY team in the world when they want to.

2nd half Taremi was the coach. You could hear him yell directions and at one point after the first goal he was talking to HH giving him instructions and mental support. Taremi is is a gem. We are so blessed to have him. I wish him a long and healthy career, and hope to meet him in person one day.

Just like he let poor Salah down with defensive strategies. I see no change from CQ. Our hope will be for a Wales or USA own goal.

CQ 3 WC thus far 12 GA and 5 GF. 5 GF in 3 WC is very poor stat. Albeit he has 2 games to change this.
