Today way a really sad day. I think you can count me as a CQ Fanboy. I feel like there were many problems.

1. bad starting lineup.
2.Please dont forget that nobody knew how the whole situation would affect our players.
3.queiroz had 2 months
4.then they have been abused and insulted all the time even when they were playing.
5.the Beinravand incident was very bad for our players. Queirozs reaction showed it.
6.they faced a team that is 2nd in Euro and 4th in the last World cup.

German television praised our brave players which is the most important thing today.
At the end it was humiliating but we have 2 more games which means 6 points which we could get.

We should wait and hope for the best. When we finished our third game you guys can roast queiroz and his fanboys. Typical Iranian behaviour

Although it's natural to be upset and disappointed, if the team can recover mentally (and improve their focus and concertation), this isn't as terrible as I feared. Here are some positives:.

• Many of our important players are rested (Kanani, Saeid, JB, Saman, Sardar, etc.).
• I was always afraid of getting humiliated at the WC, it just happened, and so what? Nobody cares, everybody is on to the next game.
• We scored twice, against England. If I told myself before the game we were going to score twice, I would've been ecstatic.
• Taremi is a beast. Confirmed. First Iran player to score a brace in the WC. A level or two above every TM player. His first goal was really nice.
• CQ tried something, it failed. It will help him stick to what works best.
• We were always going to lose this game (our WC begins vs Wales). A -4 goal differential isn't ideal but we need to win the next two games to control our own destiny.
• The pressure is off now, we just lost our toughest match.
• I know CQ got it wrong, but even if he started Kanani/Saeid, it's not like we would've drawn/won. We were outmatched in every facet.

The only issue is we weren't as focused as before (wonder if the protests back home are taking a toll). If we can sharpen ourselves mentally, this isn't over.

Milad mohammadi really hurts us. We are already a team who struggles to keep some possesion and having him really hurt us.

Ali Karimi I don't blame but this was the wrong game to use him. and not as a starter.


Benching your best Center back, with your best defensive midfielder, who are both great in the air against a physical animal of a team with a lineup so horrible could predictably result in this.

Gholizadeh ezatollahi kaanani really helped but I feel like by this point players were so demoralized and in shambles that our focus was still totally fucked up.

Its also not an excuse to mess up SIMPLE passes.

Players like Hajsafi and nourollahi were struggling to make simple passes to other players. Absolute shame.


Only positive is CQ saw this mess today and knows who should never be on the pitch again.

I don't think we will rebound from this. The mental (biggest iranian weakness) is broken and if beiro is out, the other gk won't help us.

I know our squad isn't stacked. But I really don't understand why CQ, skocic, wilmots or any coach do so many controversial and awful player choice.

Most forum members understand from day 1 some players aren't TM material. And yet they play tons of games again and again.
Putting these black holes in the line up is just a gift to the opponent plus destabilizing our other quality players. You have to rely on a back bone there : taremi/ghoddos/ezza/kanaani/beiro.

If you had conceded this game as a loss and wanted to save their legs, it’s the only possible logic, but still doesn’t make sense.

lets say USA loose to England and we win against Wales. Then we Can draw against usa and hope Wales doesnt win. Or just win against USA.

we Can draw against Wales and usa loose to England. Then we need to beat Usa and hope Wales dont beat England.

Before the game, I knew playing England first and their quality (speed+physical +high level players+ hungry young) was the worst thing for us.

Our players, specially the IPL/QSL are not used to this. We generally play against slow and/or physically weak team. We can now see how much it cost us to not have player experiencing this level of play.

Lack of ACL action also make us forget how weak our league is and how dumb players like mohebi, niazmand are to rush for a IPL come back.

Btw, the ugly stadium and wearing red in the first game reminds me the infamous opener against mexico in 2006
