I notice most foreign tv/medias write our player name wrong. But FIFA showing on tv PAG as a striker in the lineup was much worse! Wtf?

Almost as heartbreaking as our loss, was watching the Saudis play 10 times better than us against another tournament favorite!
They're not even ranked in the top 50 and don't have a single player who plays outside Saudi Arabia!
After this match, I hope the usual "we don't have quality players, blah blah blah" crowd stop that nonsense from now on.
The only difference is that Hervé Renard came to cause an upset in this match while CQ is still stuck with the 70's mentality that you need a star studded team to play a decent game in the WC.

On British television, Roy Keane blasted Queiroz after TM's loss to England and predicted Iran will have a tough time in their next game against Wales:

If you watched the game, it was crystal clear their fitness leven was above the iranian team, they were synced as an actual team.

Cq opted for experience over pace and perhaps even match readiness...why else play Ali Karimi?

I don't like he's a hezzi, but he's a piece of team (same story if Amiri is on).
What TM needs is complete focus on the field. Forget about everything else.

last night against my better judgment watched our game again...well most of it... dozed off in 2nd half for few min...
my observation on 2nd viewing w/o the emotions of the live game day
biggest reasons behind our piss poor embarrassing performance ..
1-Extremely Poor Starting Line-ups Selection by CQ:
especially so considering the formidability of our opposition and taking into account their strength and weakness...!
Leaving on the Bench our most formidable CB duo Kannani/Shoja, our most in-form, speedy and high work-rate , physically stout CM/Wingers Amiri and Torabi..! our most composed and high caliber, well experienced CM/CDM combo of Ezzat and Samman ..! starting our least in-form, struggling LB..MilMo ... Moving a rusty, outa form CB PAG to an unfamiliar positon of more of a winger/wingback/CM? Opting to Start with the Slow poke CM AK who hasnt suited up for TM in years..!, opting to start at CB our least in-tune with each other and erratic CB combo of Cheshmi & the often overrated Hossaini..! etc . etc
(Perhaps he wanted so bad that his team to show solidarity with our people by None of them signing the anthem and that forced his hand into making such a bizarre team selection at Kickoff..??)
2-Poor, bordering Delusional Overall Tactical Game Plan: Way too spread out, Not Nearly Compact enough all around leaving gaps and large spaces for the dangerous and formidable opponent to exploit and that they sure did..!!
it almost seemed to me that he was trying to play the SC Porto's High-Press tactical game plans while expecting all his players to retrieve back to crowd up our defensive half of the pitch after losing possession ?? really stupid game plan considering how we simply lack the team fitness and speed to pull off especially with scrub starters vs an opponent who is best suited to exploit it's weaknesses..! it all led to way too many half assish High Press by boys which English backline easily worked their way out of and then had acers of space to exploit behind us on counter before we could get back to re-organize the parked bus..!
we specially miserably failed in Crowding up /Defending down wide areas, WB spots allowing England wingers to have many combination plays and run/cross into our box and cause chaotic situations..!
3- Next comes down to individual errors which all have been discussed en-mass here..!!
The one thing that has seem to slip many folks earlier commentary in this regard is how piss poor was the Overall man-marking and Defensive miscues of Sadegh..!! His mistakes played a vital role in conceding the first 3 goals....! the first 2 of which really broke our back and open the floodgates for more to come..!
Fall asleep and switches off for a moment and allowed the English winger plenty of space to send in the cross which Belingham put away to start the party..!
Retarded effort to sloppy pass his way outa high press of english down RW, his pass gets intercepted and sent right back, he sprints back and makes the last ditch effort to clear the dangerous chance into by lines , conceding the CK which we concede the 2nd goal from..!
Switches off again and Fails to man mark the goal scorer near him when English hit us on the counter after our failed attempt to press them up high.... leading to easy unchallenged shot on our goal from close range against dud and already shell-shocked hossaini..!
