Saudi beating Argentina is not just pure luck it is the result of many years of planning and moving in the right direction.

KSA's prep was miles ahead of ours. They had an actual camp because all their players play in the Saudi league. Iran's prep was nowhere near that. In terms of funding and infrastructure, it is night and day between us and Saudi. Also they aren't riddled with their own fans swearing and harassing their own national team every chance they get.live in matches and on social media.

There are big differences between their football infrastructure and ours.

This conversation is a great one to have. I think we should have it though after the Wales and US game - that will determine CQ's legacy and don't worry, his biggest fans aren't absolving him of any mistakes.

Do I need to remind folks CQ also was at helm for Colomboas worst ever defeat as well? Are his tactics outdated and exposed?

That was over 20 years ago. most of these players were either
not born yet or just toddlers. 20 years is a long time but
in 20 years they have come to the point they beat the WC favourite
2-1 and we have regressed so much that we get trashed 6-2
we are moving in the opposite direction.

We had luck too. Cheshmi foul in the box was a lot worse than Saudi foul. One was called a PK and one wasn't. So it can't be luck only. And luck is a product of your efforts. Those who are lucky are determined and work hard.
