My biggest issue with CQ yesterday was his selections. Heck, I’ll even give him the benefit when it comes to a formation change that suddenly, but why not use your best players ?

for that alone yesterday, he went lower in my books but somehow getting out of this group would give him some meaningful results.

At this stage I’m behind the team and not looking to tear them apart.

No one wants to tear team apart. But we are discussing the positives and negatives of CQ as a coach.

BTW anyone watching Tunisia? Pundits suggested they would play compact and park the bus but they are taking it to Denmark albeit first half only. This is how I imagined TM playing under Cq. Solid defending an incredibly counter attack speed!

Sad, begrudging, divided, egotistical, nostalgic Iranians will continue to be ass backwards until we learn a hard lesson. Other humans would learn from the catastrophe that was the Islamic Revolution and never repeat it again...while we're repeating the same 43 years later with no leader for the movement and chickens running around with their heads cut off.

We are such sad people. "bUt 5000 yEar hIStory!" -- haha, okay bucco how's that benefiting you now?

The fans were generally good from what I saw. We were all cheering TM and no one cheered when England scored.

Security made us give in shir-o-korshid flags (store it away). They clearly knew (all security) that SOK flags were not allowed in. I saw a swarm of security a person who had a big SOK flag (outside the stadium).

The fans were cheering the players and we boo'd the national anthem. I saw video of someone giving middle finger to CQ, I don't know what that was about. The sefarati types were there but the anti-IR crowd was larger.

Of course, you had the regime mozdoors in the crowd and also they were outside the stadium taking pictures. One incident is a hijabi women located one basiji taking pictures and she got the police involved and they deleted his images. Iranian women are so strong. The basiji bastard was wearing a Vahid Amiri jersey btw.

Honestly, the players looked deflated, they were not moving much and it's clear that the off-field stuff affected them. England looked great - like a machine.

The infrastructure they have built in Qatar is so impressive. Insane digital infrastructure as well. Good for them. A new country, where the leader spends on his people, while ours just steals so his hooker and alcohol-loving relatives can live it up in the West.

This city is so clean! 10s of thousands of people at fan fest and in the streets and you don't see one garbage on the ground.

Yesterday, the stadium we went to for the England (Khalifa International Stadium) - is considered the worst one out of all the stadiums but it would be by far the best stadium in IR Iran now.

Players looked deflated. I think this campaign is done. Their motivation is shot. It's beyond football tactics by CQ. Even as a master tactician he cannot save us.

              I hope I am wrong.

I have to go back and watch again (probably can't and won't relive the pain) but from what I recall once he switched and started throwing the wrench and the baby and everything he had with offensive players coming in, we started to play much better. look in 2nd half we lost 3-2. Yes, England had scored plenty of goals to secure the win but we ended scoring 2 goals against them. I think other teams are counting on Iran play defensively under CQ and it is time for him to switch to an offensive team, at this stage that is our best chance.

They did everything to show they stood by the people.
They didn't sing the anthem. They were ready to play
the entire sham is on CQ. His selection his tactics ()
He let everyone down big time.
There are a few layers in a competitive match. He was
shredded up into pieces in the first layer.

His player selection was wrong, no doubt.

But again, I think it's beyond that at this point. The players look deflated, which counters the reports that "angeze" "morale" was good going into this game.

It's what Saudi did...and now we see Tunisia taking it to Denmark and controlling play.

CQ is too stubborn. Insisting on under contract Nekounam as assistsnt with no other options. Leaving roster spot empty for God only knows why? Defensive tactics unchanged since 2014 and across 3 different teams. Salah, Ronaldo, va va va can't all be wrong!

Looked defeated? How do you figure that out?
I didn't detect that on their looks!
To me they looked ready to park the bus and they did
but that bus got tipped over and from that moment on
                          they were defeated. CQ's tactic!

Well I was actually there and they definitely looked it - it was obvious. I agree that CQ's approach and player selection was wrong.

Our country (and football) is in such a mess - for football, I don't think any coach can save it.

This is how I sum up the game yesterday:
CQ thinking we have little chance against England
and probably tried to be smart and rested his first choice players.
Which is very dumb actually, you play your main team
to make sure they gel together and get better for the next games.
He starts some players that shouldn't even be in the squad.
He gets trashed within 30 minutes. Moral already smashed
into pieces he brings on his first choice players to save face. The game is already
lost but all he has probably said to his players is just score a goal if you can.
They play open game now. But way too open because they are not
defending they want to score a goal. They get scored on three more times
This idiot hasn't learnt about a balanced football which includes all elements
attack, possession, control, defend. He is just a stubborn
old man with outdated tactics. He is a head coach he knows
about balanced football but he hasn't got the courage the balls
to play a balanced football. He prefers to lose
                              1-0 than 3-2 or 4-2.
I am sure he will play more balanced fottball in the nest
                              two games but
his legacy for me which was not much now includes an embarrassing
6-2 trashing while the entire world is watching.

I don't even want him to play outright all day offensively, just more balanced. The team needs some rhythm. We can't just sit and expect to react defensively, especially when we don't have the strengths required to transition quickly from defense to midfield and midfield to forwards.
