None. I'd rather make it at least once. After 8+ years and 5 tournaments (ongoing) I think that is a fair expectation. Hopefully CQ makes me eat my words this time.

We will go through after winning vs Bales with 2-0 and getting 1-3 pts (3pts) in a exhiting 4-2 win vs usa. They will need to win and will open up for Taremi and company. Taremi groupstage top scorer with 6 goals 😉

This would cup the legacy of CQ and the players will always be noted with the concurrent political events in the background. From a footballing perspective he should be judged by the first two world cups.

We had lost the game even before CQs bizarre line up.

The players were under duress and their minds were elsewhere..

On two occasions I heard clear calls of Bisharaf on the TV. Imagine being a player and hearing those cries ...how can you concentrate?

Apparently the bisharaf chants were not against the players, there was a fight in the stands and it was directed towards that person. There is a good YouTube video showing this.

You think Wales and USA are totally in the dark about TM players?

I believe i se good signs from second half. We can play to score and even if the english pace slowed down, the english defenders ware clarely unhappy after the goals. Game was probably lost with to good opponent, nerves , mental aspect, unfamiliar lineup ( specially cb) and Beiro injury.

I have a hard time seing him going with the same lineup in game 2, but if he does.. 😬

This Islamic Republic of Iran team is an unorganized, unprepared and unfocused mess. Just like it’s gouvernement. I don’t think any coach could have done something about it so I don’t blame CQ for that.

However, I’ve lost all respect and appreciation for him for not showing any empathy for the people of Iran and not comprehending that the spectators hatred goes way beyond football and is a far more important matter than showing support for the (humiliating) performance of the players.

That being said, also the players are not to blame at all. As a matter of fact I am truly proud of them. The look on their faces when the Islamic anthem was being played spoke for itself and brought tears to my eyes. At the same time it showed the immense stress they are enduring and when compared to the relaxed and joyful look on the faces of the English pricks, it made me realize the game was over before it began.

I’m 100% sure IR will play two more awful games and go home, it just can’t be any other way without any preparation even under normal circumstances let alone these ones. It doesn’t matter how much energy and gheirat the plates will put into it, you can’t just compensate for 40+ years of corruption, wasted talent, lack of any plan, reason and structure for the team. Just wish CQ opens his mouth and supports the people of Iran and shows a firm middle finger to the gouvernement but he probably won’t. He knows well that he won’t get paid and apart from that he just doesn’t care that much.

Hope one day soon we get back our country, freedom, dignity, rights and of course our football!
