I dream of the day Iran has no enemies and is best friends with everyone including Saudi Arabia. Imagine the amount of positivity we could accomplish if Iran/Saudi/Israel/Turkey etc. all worked together instead of against each other

Now onto the USA game, viva Iran!

saw this on Twitter, funny and no disrespect to Wales. Wishing them a great performance vs England

The world is a tiny bit better today with Ramin scoring a chip in the WC. His smile after scoring is priceless. Just the fact he knew he just fully finished Wales off.

what a win. the boys stepped up big time and it takes a lot of mental strength and balls to pull off a performance like that after the @ss whooping vs. England. This puts us in prime position to advance from the group and do something we've never done before. And in the R16, you never know!

I do have to say though, the celebrations after the game were very cringe. They won't help the bad image of this team for Iranians in Iran right now.

WCs are the best international festivals. It is an amazing gathering of passionate fans but with an unwritten rule of respect for one another. I've been to 2006 and 2018 and wish I could go to this one too but the winter schedule was hard to pull off for me. Enjoy your time there and thanks much for your reporting.

Yesterday the Welsh and English media were joyfully talking about repeating the scoreline the English did on us!
Waving it as if this was a forgone conclusion and they just need to worry about the number of goals they would score.

I guess CQ's horrible lineup and even more horrible 3 man back line in the first match DID confuse all these ppl!
They just didnt take us seriously & were so blase' about the game as if all they need to worry is the final game vs the english.

A draw between England and USA would be the best, then England won’t rest any players the last game against Wales and they have to go all in so they don’t loose.

Pretty hungover from starting to drink at 9am, but here are some of my thoughts:

                              - I'm not at all disappointed by the players mumbling through the anthem with no enthusiasm. They showed their intention in the first match and I'm sure they've had some serious threats against them.

                              - The line up was somewhat disappointing initially. Sadegh didn't deserve to be dropped. No Saman. But I guess it worked at the end of the day.

                              - Wales were shocking. They didn't challenge Iran's defensive weaknesses (Ezza's slow motion movements). They were also very slow to track back on defense. Iran had so much time unchallenged with the ball in their final third.

                              - Taremi is it. Best player in our history. Never seen an Iranian like him. Kudos to Both Hosseini's for rebounding from the shocking display against England. Ramin also had the game of his life.

                              - Gholi's creativity was a big key. I hope CQ utilizes our technically gifted played more (Saman).

                              - Cheshmi goal was nuts. He wasn't even looking at the net when he released the ball. Still don't think he should be getting significant playing time. Too much of a defensive liability.

                              - I want someone to explain to me why Hajsafi is taking our set pieces. For the love of god. I'm going to have a stroke over this.

                              - No bad performances. No not even JB.

                              - Between Sardar and Beiro, we clearly have an issue with risking players who are clearly injured. Sardar played decent, but there was no point in risking his future like that.

                              - All the English fans at the pub were cheering for Iran and respectful.

                              - Go TM, Zan Zendegi Azadi.
