Very good game by TM. Some pride restored.
Looked like players were given
free style to play football. Thumps up!! Starting XI was slightly
better but since it was Wales we were OK
As far as I am concerned CQ still needs
to beat USA NOT DRAW but BEAT USA
in order to fully justify the shambolic loss of 6-2.
Very happy now we have some chance of advancing from

I'm not at all surprised by this result. In fact I expected it. When Iran plays with this mentality they will be in any match against any opposition in the world. I was really impressed by the unselfish running off the ball. Most of all there is a very good chance that Iran will advance to the knockout stage.Comment

Man, just finished celebrating 10 minutes ago!
Congrats to everyone.
We were absolutely impeccable today, tactically, the formation, subs, concentration and of course gheyrat and work rate.
And the result was beating a European team for the first time in a WC, with our largest margin win and doubling our goals scored in a WC!
I think everyone deserves a 10 after that performance including CQ and the entire TM cadre.
Having said that I think it's only fair to give Rezaeian an 11 for that amazing performance.
Looking forward to the beating US, qualifying for the 2nd round and never playing overly defensive again.

By the Way. All the saudis i have talked to before and After the match were hoping for Iran to win. They are so happy for us and they respect our team. They told mener Would win and that the England match wasnt the true Iran.

Asian national teams have really grown and show why those 4-5 slots in WC are EARNED. This year asian teams have been great so far. Gone are the days when unqualified european teams disrespect AFC teams and rant about that they should be there instead of us.
In this sense i root for ALL asian teams. Asian success is good for ALL ASIANS. Never thought I would be delighted by saudi success at word stage. But this is much better. We need good teams to face to become better and at least they invest in their sports. Their success is well earned.Comment
