After reading Wales’ over confidence with Moore’s comments in their press conference, this 2-0 felt really sweet. We dominated them throughout, never gave up and eventually defeated them. Brilliant display today but Team Melli.
I hope this victory brings some joy to our brave people during this time.

This was arguably one of the best TM games ever!
I have watched TM games for many years and never ever have I seen any TM play this entertaining and fluid football, not even against the Asian powerhouse counterparts. Loved every bit of it. Everyone was exceptionally good. It was just joyful to watch them play!
One thing though, Taremi needs to start thinking of taking the shot when he has the opportunity to score. He needs to be a little more selfish than selfless. He had several chances to take a shot on goal but he kept passing the ball.
I hope this amazing win will not make our team as cocky as some of you folks' comments in this thread!
In regard to mouthing the national anthem, we gotta have to understand their position as well. It's has become so obvious to all of us how the IR pressures individuals to come forth and appear on TV giving forced and dictated IR-favored speeches. I am glad that at least they did not fully sign the national anthem, mouthing it was also a punch in the face of the IR, as the whole world noticed and voiced it out!
Glad US drew England as this draw hinders England's complacency against Wales in their last group last match. They well know
and England loss and an Iran win would mean ending up as runner-up and losing the top of the group position, while putting Iran on top of the group!

In the past the head coaches restricted their fluid
football playing by emphasising that they should stick rigidly
to the tactics and game plan dictated by the coach.
What Skocic was doing and some us who can understand
football a bit more agreed with was that he was letting players
play football and use their technical abilities to
dominate the game. And that translated into a coach that
has no gameplans!!! I personally enjoyed most of the games TM
played under Skocic than any game apart from last night's under CQ.
CQ is referring to "TM played football" in his interview!
I really hope he has come to realisation that a game plan
is not about restricting players to a rigid form of play but
just an outline and 90% of the game is up to the player
to decide on the pitch. CQ did that last night. We dominated
the game. We would have had a much much better result against England
if he had let our players PLAY FOOTBALL in that game too!

Taremi has the stats for most key passes in one game (8) for this world cup
He also won the accolade for the 2018 world cup:

This shows how much others respect us, proud of our players. While some of us hell bent to insult our players let alone insulting other nations. Let's learn to love others not hate.

I hope Sardar recovers for the next game. For me, Sardar was the most influential player against Wales. He stretched their defense and occupied so many players that our midfielders had plenty of time and space to play. He was so good at establishing a passing lane for guys to send the ball. He really tired them out. As the saying goes by the time he was replaced you could stick a fork in them. Rezaian with his confidence on the ball was also a major addition. Gholizadeh found more space to play in because they had to worry about Rezaian as well. US team was very impressive in playing as a compact team all over the field. They always seemed to have at least 5 to 6 players on the TV screen. They have fantastic midfielders. Time for Taremi to have his outstanding game of the first round. Give Torabi more playing time regardless of his annoying personality. I would like to apologize to Cheshmi for a few choice words I might have screamed out when he was subbed in.
