Anyone else noticed that we tend to score goals more often when Ansarifard is on the pitch? Its been so for a long time.

Interestingly, if Iran meets Senegal in the knockout rounds, it will be the FIFTH time Queiroz has coached against Senegal this year alone. In the previous 4 meetings, he had 1 win, 1 draw, and 1 loss with Egypt, and 1 draw in the September friendly while coaching Iran.

Ideal formation has 2 CDM’s, one like Saeid with good strength who can play an accurate outlet pass, and the other quicker with ability to press for long periods like Amiri. Ghoddos should play on the left and the rest should be unchanged from Wales game. Team needs to avoid sitting in too deep of a block as USA could create issues over 100 minutes of football. I would like to see Iran try to maintain possession for longer stretches of the game as compared to wales in order to be able to dictate the pace and momentum of the game.

Not sure if people noticed, but CQ switched from a 4-3-3 to a 4-2-3-1 (almost a 4-4-2) against Wales. Taremi gave him that flexibility.
I like Taremi in the 10 role. He is technically good enough to keep the ball and provide an outlet to start counter attacks. His movement is world class. Defensively he works hard. Playing as a striker, he is too far from the ball when we counter. His presence also gives Azmoun more space.
US are strong in the midfield line and wingers. As much as I dislike their politics, I would start Torabi and Amiri, they have a very high workrate and can keep the ball:
————-Beiranvand———-
Ramin—PAG—Hosseini—-Milad
————Ezza——Amiri————-
Gholi———-Taremi———Torabi
—————-Azmoun—————
Hajsafi could replace Torabi, but against Senegal, Torabi provided great cover.
