Just don’t give them space. We can’t be flat footed and have the come at us. We can play defensive but with a kinetic style.

Reality Check:
US is a strong team! There is no doubt about that.
There is speed, skills and a system in that team which makes it a tough opponent for anyone. this team is the result of years of investments and development. US has made it clear that they want to win the world cup within a 10 year window or earlier.
Iran on the other hand, a team of last minute preparation, with no real backbone, structure, investment and just a team of circumstances and emotions.
On the paper we have no chance to beat USA.
That said, the reason football is such an exciting game is because calculations on the paper is only one tenth of what transpires on the field.
Iran needs to go all out and play with its head, heart and soul.
Victory is not easy but possible!

There is a lot of hype about the American team, yes they are not bad, but they are not an incredibly strong squad either. I see Iran and the US on equal footing, a game that can go either way, the US has advantages in the midfield and in return our offence is much stronger than the US.
From a purely motivational perspective, I think we are more keen to progress because the USA is like a derby for us Iranians, while for the Americans Iran is not really that relevant in terms of motivation. Our players will tear themselves apart to be remembered like the heroes of 1998.
The starting position is also on our side, the US has to win, we don't, which will lead to the Americans investing a lot of energy to score a goal and then play on the counter-attack. However, our offence is capable of being dangerous for the USA at any time, I mean we scored almost three goals against England! The USA only had one real chance. If we score a goal, I'm sure that Iran will win by a large margin, but if the US goes behind, they will be very high up and they will probably lose. We have to remember that if we lead, the USA will have to score 2 goals. I think the game will be 0-0 for a long time, then we score 0-1, the US opens up and loses significantly.
USA 0-3 Iran, but the last two goals come after 85+, so it will be a close game for a long time.
But never forget, we are the underdogs

So probably keep the same starting lineup.
However, Khalilzadeh-Kanaani were Team Melli's brilliant Central Defence duo, also Ghoddos is an experienced European player, I don't understand why these three are not in the starting lineup or not playing?
Jahanbakhsh has two yellow so won't be playing against USA, so who should be backup for Gholizadeh in Right Wing position? Would Ghoddos be a suitable choice?
Rezaeian and Pouraliganji both have one yellow each, so if they do start against USA they will be under pressure not to get their second yellow. So would it be better to have Moharrami and Khalilzadeh play instead of these two?

Imo this is bs. Usa only got 1 quality player and that is pulisic. Taremi got more quality than pulisic

Gholizadeh is super inconsistent. Starting him is a big decision, but I guess with JB being out it isn’t unlikely. I would be very surprised if we don’t see Amiri this game. And I really hope to see Ghoddos play, he can bring something new to the field--------------------------Beiranvand-------------------

You're tripping really hard bro if you think their only quality player is Pulisic... In fact, I'm not even worried about Pulisic as much as I'm worried about their dominant midfield in Yunus Musah, Tyler Adams and Weston Mckinnie
