imo usa is the least we should be worried about. Also they are very tired after the england game. Also they are quite inexperienced and very young. Should be a win for us or at least a tie.

I'm not sure why they think the US played a great game. England played not to lose. They talk as if the US team has already advanced to the next round.

Just don't give them space. We can't be flat footed and have the come at us. We can play defensive but with a kinetic style.

Unfortunately we give a lot of space in the midfield....USA didn't let England breathe even.

I hate to say this, but Iran will lose. Wales is an older team that’s a good matchup for Iran. England and the US are both younger and faster teams. Iran lacks pace and speed, especially with having Azmun not at 100%.

I call US wins 3 - 1 with a late consolation goal.

similar to Taremi who gave it all last match, Welsh looked tired and erratic in passing etc.. ...especially in the final phases of today's game..!
dont think we coulda dominate them as heavily as today had we not have rested some key players last match..!?

lets hope england and usa match becomes a similar dogfight of game, ending in a scoreless tie..?

We had six more hours of recovery time compared to Welsh and we'll again have six more hours of recovery time compared to USA. I totally agree with your dogfight theory and basically a lack of depth on their bench means that same players will start again. Nourolahi will be a huge miss against a hardworking USA midfield. I hope we get 60 minutes from Sardar.

Hope CQ doesn't make a giant out of usa, like some people do here.
They are better team than Wales, no doubt. More talents, speed, cohesion and better transition but they are beatable, lost to Canada, Costa Rica in qualifiers and haven't won in last 5 matches(friendly and WC), lost 1, tied 4 others....
We just need a right game plan and capitalize on our chances.

Their speed and youth also concerns me, but i think this game Will be a low scoring game, they must win and have more pressure, we need to stick to our game and gameplan and contain their midfield, a low block defence whit quick counters will work against a team like U.S because they are not superior to us physicaly like England and Wales.

I remember a writer in the LA times characterized Iran's game as "sand soccer". Another former player said the task was not that difficult considering three points from the Iran game were in the bag.
