We just need a balanced approach, although more defensive than against Wales, and I’m confident we can pull at least a draw.

Yes, the USA is desperate, but we’re desperate to make it to the knock out stages. CQ needs to get his lineup and tactics right, and not wait too long to make subs if it’s not working.

His lineup and tactics worked to perfection against Wales. My only worry is that CQ ends up respecting USA too much, we play too defensive, then break.

We have a good enough offense now, were it can act as a “defense,” since our defense today is not as good as 2018.

Iran has the upper hand.
Not for the obvious factor of needing only a draw. But for the following:
1- US needs a win and a draw is not enough. So they will come up, open up and provide space all over their backline.
2- The US team, while good technically and very pacy, are very young and inexperienced.

A controlled game where we play possession football and eat up time would pile great stress on the inexperienced lot. If you reach halftime with no scores, that pressure will double.
by Min 70, they will get desperate and open up wide at the back. Which will suit the likes of taremi, Gholi, ... etc. to hurt them.

But a defensive TM which sits too far back and close to the box (like vs england) is not the way. A heavily congested midfield (4 to 5 at least) would make life very hard for them and easy for our possession football.
Not all should be defensive minded players. But players who can KEEP THE BALL, BE ABLE TO DRIBBLE A BIT, GOOD PASSING & Intelligent to move into spaces or create space,and be quick on the feet.

First half is the key.

If the game is leveled they will start to panic more and open up more and more.

If we score the first goal we will win this game, then they need to score 2 goals and we can counter the sh*t out of them.

They are under lot of pressure at home after the awful performance against US and they definitely need a win for securing the qualification for the next round since US-Iran game will be played simultaneously so if Iran Win, then England need to win for top spot in the table. Also, in worst case even if England would rest some players, even the bench (reserves) should manage most of the average teams like Wales and Iran.

believing all the best scenarios that suits and benefits us would happen.
On the contrary, I believe we should get ready with all the worst
possible scenarios so that we are not caught out cold.
It is best to assume England would field a reserve team to start with

I Read somewhere that Harry Kane and others Will be rested. There have Been so many upsets at this World cup, that i wouldnt be surprised if Wales won. But lets see what happens, thankfully its all in our hands

To be 100% safe we should go in the game for the Win, and maybe in worst case ending up whit a draw, i still dont think wales will beat England, but if we win there is no agar va amma.

But England is already heavy critisized, they dont want to go to R16 whit only one win against Iran and loss and tie to their rivals, it will be only negativity and no momentum for them going forward.

I'm just concerned about neutralizing Weah. Mohammadi has the speed, Hajsafi the ball control. Weah isnt on a lot of people's radars but does the most for the US in terms of stretching the game. If we neutralize him, I think we have a shot.
