Incredible performance by the team. Couldn’t honestly ask for a better rebound.

hosseini - 8/10 was only tested a couple of times but was completely under control
Ramin - 10 unreal how he plays in the World Cup. Was everywhere and physicially and mentally dominated anyone around him.
Majid - 8 very very solid
PAG - 8 same as majid
Milmo - 8 best game he’s had in a long time
Hajsafi - 7 decent game
eza - 9 just pure class on the ball
Nouro - 7 not terrible, but just lacks what he always lacks. Worked very hard though
Goli - 9 absolutely brilliant today on the ball although had a few easy give aways. Just a difference maker of creativity
Taremi - 8 worked hard but a bit indecisive
Azmoun - 7 worked hard but clearly not fit

Cheshmi! Just the fact he went for a shot from outside of the box is brilliant. We haven’t had that in so long! Won us the game! Ramin’s was icing on the cake to sweeten the deal. Tired of Europeans underestimating TM.


Mad props to HHosseini for coming back from getting scored on 6 times to play well in such short amount of time. You gotta have shear mental strength to regain your confidence and concentration.

MiMo and Ramin played like they were possessed.

Hosseini 7 - Wasnt too tested but had a couple of good saves and very good certain exits.

Ramin 8 - Played heck of a game, ran his butt off, scored (who would've thought). Just needs to sharper in possession.

PAG 7 - Solid game. Good buildup play from the back. Nice to see him back in the fold.

Majid 8 - Great game. Bossed Wales on a few possessions (Daniel James and Neco Williams). So good in possession and so level headed.

Milad 6.5 - Same as Ramin (minus the goal). Showed his speed coming forward. But just needs to be better in possession.

Nour 6.5 - Ran his butt off. Tries and works really hard for the team. Just lacking in possession a bit.

Saeid 7.5 - Another boss performance. So good on the ball and defensively. Just cant run much. And almost scored a beauty.

Ehsan 6.5- Typical Ehsan game. Turned it over a few times but provides a sense of balance.

Mehdi 7 - Not his best game but still pivotal. Drew the red. Got a nice assist.

Sardar 7 - So proud of him. You can tell he is not 100% but ran his ass off and was a complete nuisance to Wales.

Gholi 7 - Very dangerous and creative and almost scored a beauty curler. The announcers were impressed by him in the USA.

H. Hosseini - 7. Excellent exits. Made the saves he needed to when called upon. Kicking improved a lot from first game.

Ramin - 8. MOTM. He gave us added quality in final third with his crossing, set pieces, general play. He was also very solid defensively. Proved me wrong big time. He played a balls out performance. Also way better than recent times I have seen him in terms of playing out from pressure.

Pouraliganji - 7. Much better from him, really strong aerially and solid in possession.

Majid Hosseini - 7.5 Also very solid and was usually going toe-to-toe with their big CF. I think he still could commit less fouls when the FWD has his back to goal and isnt really a threat. Really good in possession and helped us get out of the press a few times.

Mohammadi - 6.5. Very solid defensively, but still moments of pure retardation with the ball (turnovers, crossing). But he made good runs all night to stretch the welsh down that side, and was strong aerially.

Saeid Ezatolahi - 7.5. To all those who keep doubting this guys talent, at what point will you admit he is our most critical player and for his all his problems is still an incredible player. He is clearly not fully in shape, but dominated the midfield in the second half. Really unlucky not to score with brilliant strike, a beautiful cross to azmoun was only a few cm from being an assist, and limited number of fouls.

Hajsafi - 7. Worked extremely hard, unlucky not to get a stunning assist for azmoun chance that hit the post. Really improved in second half. His set pieces were also good today

Nourollahi - 6.5. Covered a ton of ground as we expect from him, but really limited in possession. I rarely even see him offer to help the team with the ball. Kind of a waste of a player. If we had a fitter saeid and true box to box presence instead of Hajsafi, I am sure Ghoddos would get the start instead of nourollahi. But since our midfield lacks legs, he kind of needs to play.

Gholizadeh - 7. His end product could be better but man is he dangerous. Constant hub of activity, welsh had a lot of issues figuring out how to deal with him. Super unlucky to not score a beauty from distance. Corners could be better though.

Taremi - 7. Not his best game, final ball was often lacking, but he came good getting the toe to the ball for the red card, and with the assist to Ramin.

Azmoun - 7.5. I give him the extra 0.5 because he played this game clearly not fit and managed 70 mins. That takes an insane amount of courage and mental strength. For the run on the hajsafi pass it was his classic timing, if he was in peak fitness/form he would 100% have left the guy in the dust and finished easily. Still he managed to hold the guy off (bc of his improved upper body strength) and finish with a strong shot that came off the post. In general he gave the welsh a headache all night. The dual threat of Sardar and Mehdi is simply unmatched for us in terms of how effective it is and confusing for the opposition. You get one and the other is free. He will be HUGE for TM in final game. He showed he indeed has real gheyrat and grown up a lot.

Bench:

ARJ - 2. Shit in all aspects. So happy he got a yellow and will miss next game.

Karimi - 6. Bit slow as usual and couple dumb fouls. But his ball to Mehdi for the red card was excellent, and what his game is all about.

Cheshmi - 7. Incredible strike, also won many aerials in final mins. Justified CQ faith in him. He wont start the next match but he is a useful squad player.

Ansarifard - 6. Not much impact.

Torabi - 7. Super unlucky not to score a stunner himself, gave us a driving force when midfield was getting a bit tired. I feel like he could honestly be a good candidate for CM/ Private Messages role, like Amiri at last WC.

Tabrik be hamegi. Dam e tak take bache ha garm. This game took a lot of BALLS to win. So much problems off the field, dealing with bad loss in opening game, etc. I think Wales took us lightly and were a bit shocked when they found they were up against a really tough side. The mental strength of this group to deal with last few days and put together this performance is commendable. They are now in driver seat for RO16 birth.

This was a gutsy brave performance, something I have been waiting to see from this team. I hate that chicken shit sit back and bezan ziresh (although some element of that was still present today).

I give the team 10 out of 10. Everything was done spot on!


H. Hosseini - Cool and composed. I am getting to like this keeper more and more. He should start against USA. Beiravand may get injured again and the last thing you want to do is to bring a cold keeper. We saw what happened against England.
Ramin - Great goal at the end. He ran almost the entire field to score that goal. He had gutsy performance today, although his passing is something not to be desired. He made a few big mistakes that could have caused us dearly. I will keep him on the roaster for US game for sure. He is super charged at the moment.
Pouraliganji - He did a lot better than the first game. But his zire-toop zadan is something not to be desired in the next game.
M Hosseini - He is a good solid defender but not very smart.
Mohammadi - When I saw him coming to the pitch, I held my head but he proved me wrong. He did a lot of running and his defending was spot on. We need him to perform same against USA.
Ezatolahi - Didnt see alot from him today except that attempt on goal. We have no one at moment who can replace him. I hope the injury is not serious. We need him against USA.
Hajsafi - He either performs really bad or really good. Surprisingly, today he was in the middle. His set pieces are never good enough, but he insists to take them all.
Nourollahi - He was a workhorse today. Did a lot of running and covering ground. His passing was not there.
Gholizadeh - He is a kind of player that can penetrate into the 18 with his dribbling and create goal opportunities. He did good today.
Taremi - He is such an asset for our team. On and off the ball, up front or in the middle, he knows what he is doing. He was everywhere today and involved in the match turning point.
Azmoun - I don't know why he can never score on a one-on-one situation. He does not use his body right and always falls to the ground after taking a shot. He should have put that opportunity to bed. I hope he manages to get his injury looked after. He is needed for the game with US. He did okay today.
ARJ - Poor performance from him in 2 games so far. What his head tells him to do and what his real abilities are, are in big contrast. I am disappointed from what I have seen from him so far. Sad to say this, but I am kind of happy is out for the next game.
Karimi - I have never been so impressed with him. Although his performance was ok today, but he is too slow and makes too many passing mistakes.
Cheshmi - Amazing shot ! In my opinion the second best goal of the tournament so far. I doubted his presence in the first game and I was not all that wrong. Today was a different story. No to sure if he is going to be on the starting 11 next game.
Ansarifard - I though him coming in would send Taremi to fill Sardar's role as the target man, but that didnt happen. He is the type of player that puts the ball in when given the opportunity. Sometime more clinical than Sardar. He was fine today.
Torabi - Unlucky not to score. His addition to the team always creates that ability to penetrate into 18. We should keep him as a super sub for next game.


Let's not get over head. Game with US will need to be played at a much higher quality than this one.
