United States on paper is a better team than Iran and IMHO its not close. I am not gonna try to address each point cuz then I would have to write an essay.

Their midfield trio is Tyler Adams (young star for Leeds United), Weston Mckinnie (good player for Juventus), Yunus Mensah (Could have played for England, chose USA instead, Gareth Southgate talked about what a big loss it was). Comparing our midfield to theirs is like comparing a recently built bmw to a PT cruiser.

We have an advantage in striker position (taremi or azmoun would easily start for them). I would say defence is a slight edge for USA; Ream and Dest have strong European experience (they definitely will NOT "fall like flies"). Goalkeeper I would again give US the advantage (turner, while a bench warmer, is on Arsenal).

Also wtf are you saying we dont need counterattacks?? That's literally how CQ plans out our attack! That'd be like saying to a spanish team dont focus so much on possession play lol

I'm not trying to say Iran has no chance. This US team is super inexperienced and it shows all the time; they get can get flustered and lose their heads. The fact that we can aim for a tie whereas US has to go for a win is a huge advantage for CQ. If Ezatolahi and Nourallahi play like they did against wales then we are cooking with gas.

Our team will need to play very physical, possibly give up lots of meaningless fouls in order to take the pace and momentum out of the game. USA is terrible on set pieces. Ideal game would be one like we had VS Portugal with lots of stoppages, aerial duels everywhere, fouls, breaks in play. Basically anti-football shit.

Definitely how CQ is going to instruct us to play. All the inferiority complex fans here bigging up USA’s midfield as if we’ve never played better teams don’t realize this. They can only beat us at their game if we let them play it, which we definitely will not.

wow i hope they don't get suspended because i really want us to knock them out but if it is a fifa rule they have to follow through
