I saw Karim Ansarifard took the press conference today.

Usually, 75% of the time the player in the press conference the day before normally starts.

Any chance he starts here and Sardar Azmoun is preserved or is it likely they sent their most articulate player (in terms of speaking English) as the questions may have been political and tricky.

(I don't know how good Ansarifard's English is).
I assume they may have sent Jahanbakhsh if this was the case had he not been suspended having lived in England and Netherlands.

Been sad to see no former players posting any support of the team. I think if a former player was “brave” they would also post that the team isn’t insensitive to what’s going on back home and we should support them as a countrymen, but nobody does cause they don’t want to be unpopular.

I hope this team makes it far, even to quarter finals. They deserve to go down as our best team in history
