Karim Bagheri is not taking that job in these circumstances. Any Iranian who takes the coaching job knows they will be ridiculed for being "pro-regime" by certain people now. Only the Hezbollahis or foreigners will be in place.

My top choice is carlos carvalhal. He is coaching in uae so certainly open to working in the area, he has mentioned before iran is a talent hotbed and ofc did great things coaching mehdi and rio ave, and then Braga. He improved both those sides a lot, has experience working in both 2nd division and top flight of england with Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea, he is a young coach with attacking system and has an eye for young players and talent development of existing stock.

If we cannot get him, Renard is a solid option, but not sure if he will become available.

Besides these I do not see many coaches willing to come to Iran at the moment. No domestic coach has showed anything to suggest they will do better than CQ. If we go for underqualified coach we will get rift in camp and embarassment. So in case carvalhal profile or renard is not available, stick with CQ but give mandate that teams need major refreshing like he did post 2014 successfully.

however personally I don’t care at all to take chance on CQ/Eskoochie ever again..!
Eskoochie’s inexperience & low level as an international coach was clearly evident whenever his TM face a formidable opponent & he clearly couldn’t muster any respect from half his squad & the federation he worked for ..!
& I’m sorry CQ too has definitely run his course in TM & even as a higher level international coach..!
If you gonna be playing a prideless, chicken shit ultra defensive football then you must consistently attain positive results or @ a very least be a good Team picker & decent judge of talent..!
He comprehensively Ridd this time around .. from his idiotic traveling squad picking …. Going a player short & with 4 goalies which are frankly unforgivable to his clown starting team selection throughout the tournament..! Barring a somewhat lucky late strike vs wales, his selection looked unorganized, unsettled defensively & for most part toothless in attacking & flat out dreadful in middle of the park..!

Don’t want to see either at helm of tm & still don’t see a qualified domestic coaching option either..!

Hich kas. Now that the WC is over for us, our only focus should be getting rid of IR. After that we will have world class coaches, facilities and players. CQ was the best coach we ever had and in the current situation we will never see a better coach than him, that is willing to work in that jungle IR created for us.

after that we'll be like Syria and Iraq. Football will be the last thing on your mind. As we all know, football thrives during a civil war.
