nekounam is an oghdeyee immature guy who's tricked everyone into thinking he's a leader but in reality is an agenda-driven egomaniac concerned with covering his own ass. team melli has always been mediocre when compared to a global standard. barely qualifying to world cups, getting knocked out of asian cups, can't muster more than 1-2 successful legionnaires a decade.

Truth! Even under CQ this trend continued. You know it is interesting the only coach to reverse this was Skocic. Where was his respect? I guess calling him Bademjan is a term of endearment to some. Comon man, CQ legacy is tarnished. It's not biases it's objective results..or lack thereof. We cannot be blind TM fans anymore. Accountability matters. How come no one can explain leaving a WC roster spot empty? 4 GK? Not practicing or even evaluating a tactic you are going to implement in the WC? If Skocic, Neku or any one else did this we would all yell and scream incompetence! Let's be honest and hold those accoubtable.

Cq spoiled no one. He just fooled 80 million fans for 3 WC and 2 AC...unfortunately God knows how much more is to come!

Give me anyone but CQ. After this WC, I'm sick and tired of his defensive mindset, playing not to lose mentality and outdated tactics that every semi-decent team outside Asia has figured out. He has had 5 tournaments and never took us to different heights. I do not know a single coach in the world that has so much credit after everything he didn't achieve. Every other coach would have been out.

I find this news weird. I doubt if these two would want to take the job in Iran. Also I don't think that FFIRI can afford them.

Many people forget the dark ages we fell into after WC 2006. CQ single-handedly brought us out of it, qualifying us to back to back world cups, and giving us the best WC results in team melli history in 2018.

It’s because of CQ that we always expect to effortlessly qualify for each WC now, it’s because of CQ we had players like Dejagah & Gucci in the squad, and Ghoddos now.

Most importantly, you see how he developed the team in terms of fitness, tactics, depth, and player development from WC2014 to WC2018.

He only had a few months with the team. Of course he’s forced to play with an aging squad. He definitely has his flaws as a coach. In spite of it all, we were actually quite close to drawing USA in the final match.

The combination of having a black & mentality plus lack of gratitude will only halt our progress. If we can get someone who’s at least on the same level as CQ, then great. If not, then we should be lucky to still have a coach like him.

Btw, if it wasn’t for CQ, Taremi most likely would not be tearing it up at Porto right now.

Otherwise we might aswell go for domestic coaches instead of trash like CQ who only knows how to fail.
