No they do not choose I.R ( minus olagh Torabi) but they have to deal whit i.r monkeys and get threats against you and your family in a world cup, real booster....

Lets just hope that I.R is in the trashcan before wc 26

We had guys like Dejagah and Ghodoos who could have played for other countries if they wanted to. Let's give them credit for joining even with all the sh*t they have to go through.

Dejagah played for the german youth teams but was never even close to get picked for the german A team, thats why he chose Iran.

Ghoddos was waiting and waiting for Janne Andersson to pick him when he was on fire in Östersund, but the call never came and Iran qualified for WC in june 2017 and CQ called Saman and Sweden got Italy in a playoff, so thats why he chose Iran.

Nobody in their right mind would pick Iran over Germany or even Sweden because of these f*cking mullahs.

If whe had a iranian government and stable country whit no isolation from the international community and a professional IFF then maybe players whit dual citizenship would chose Iran for their love for our land, like for example Ziyech that was picked to play for Oranje Netherlands but chose Morroco where his heart his.

My son could play for ( If he becomes good enough) Sweden ( i live here) Croatia ( my wife is croatian) and Iran because of me, i love Iran whit all my heart and soul but i would never want him to play for Iran whit these i.r occupiers behind the wheel.

Ghodoos was still in the mix, but Behrang Safari told him to pick Iran as he regretted choosing Sweden over Iran.

Dejagah was in the mix too, but his refusal to travel to Israel, ruined him in Germany.

I wish you and your family the best, and hope your son and those like him choose to play for a hopefully free Iran, wherever they are

I would choose Iran over Sweden, Germany or any other country even if IFF is the worst federation in the world and TM one of the weakest team of the world. If Iran situation is unbearable, I would not play for any NT and focus on my club career (like Benzema did before).

When Dejagah chose Iran, TM was in shambles, just missed wc 10, had no legionnaires, 3 years after the green movement and we were in the middle of AN infamous reign and Iran isolation

I would always choose Iran if I had the chance to. In my opinion playing for a national team is not about the prize money or becoming famous. I was born in Germany but I have a very special bond to Iran which I cannot explain. It would be far easier to win a title if you choose to play for the German national team but in my opinion it is not just about winning a title, it is about playing for the country and culture you identify with. With all the shit going down in this country it is still my country and where my parents are from. This regime is barbaric and it wasted 43 years while ,,ruling“ this country. The image of our country is catastrophic but playing for this team would be an honour to me. But I understand people who say who could not play for Iran because of the regime and the headaches it involves to be part of Team Melli (being pressured by the regime, corruption, catastrophic organization, no real support by the corrupt joke of a federation). I hope this regime who wasted so many lives and potential will be gone soon and hopefully it will be an easier decision for diaspora Iranians to choose to play for Team Melli.

Assadi won't play for Iran, unfortunately, but I hope we have a country one day where we are proud once again to be Iranians and the world wants to be associated with it. Where we put forward a world-class country and world-class football team.

Not like now - where we don't have the world's most useless currency, most useless passport, most anti-people government ... it will come, by the mercy and grace of God.
"This is a totalitarian system whose presence people feel in their blood and in their flesh on a daily basis. And it’s one that does not grant freedoms of any kind, or accommodate people’s demands in any way. What is increasingly clear is that there is clear demand for change in the regime. What the people want is regime change, and no return to the past. There is a very real possibility of regime change." - Nasrin Sotoudeh

I'm still mad at CQ for not taking at least 2 young players to world cup. Like WHYYYYYYYYYY???

Yasin Salmani (instead of omid), Hosseinzadeh, or even Mohebi!!!!

Regarding Lucas Assadi , We should invite him but i doubt he is any good right now!

                    Has anyone seen him play?

Also chile and iran at same level! Chile is actually poor so why would he not join iran and play for iran! People talking like Chile is a rich first world country! Their country is in mess like iran!

Not sure about Ghoddos but Dejagah was crossed out because he refused to play against Isreal. He had great chance of playing for germany national team as most of his team mates did . So don't belittle dejagah. I respect him for choosing iran over germany.

I think many people here don't know the 100% story of Dejagah.

Dejagah was one of the biggest talents in german youth, he played with Özil and many others when he was under 21 and was even the star of the team at that time.
Everything was destroyed when he chose not to play Israeli Team at that time with his team, the reason is unknown, i dont know if he thought his family might be in trouble but i am very sure if Dejagahs career went well he would have chosen Germany.

In general Dejagah would have made it 100% to the german national team, i say that becaue as i said, while playing with names like Özil and some others who became national team players, he still was the star of the youth team and i think even the captain of u21.

                              Lucas Assadi

                              Age: 18
                              Position: Striker

Already the Chile U-20 has called him up. Already the Chile U-20 has called him up. Chile national team called him up for November friendlies, he played as a sub vs. Slovakia.

So maybe it's too late ...

If we have CQ, he can try his best to get him. But Iran's brand right now is at an all-time low, it would be a dream to get him at this point

He's widely talented. Burnley, Valencia, and Bayer Leverkusen want this player.

                              Has Iranian lineage.

He might not be Iranian but using this Instagram page as a source to say that another source isn’t reliable is kinda ironic
