Those glory days of karim bavi crying
at his tm first practice got his first real soccer shoes at his first tm practice

imagine having cq from 1996 until 2006
with 4 Asian players of the year at his disposal.
from 2019 until cq came back, our players where quality wise decline DUE AZADEGAN LEAGUE COACH Armani bademjon.
beautiful thing about soccer connection of certain coaches to certain era.
    cq
    Between 96-2004
Would of easily qualified us to 3 consecutive wc
, would of won minimum 1 to max 2 Asian cup with all those crazy talent players we had
So many stars that generation had
    Perfect for cq.
    Wow
Imagine we had cq since 1980 until now
i am thinking what result we would of accomplished.

By far greatest coach in Iran history

That same Korea lost points against Iraq and UAE, hence why they finished second in qualifications.

With AFC having 8 direct spots in WC 2026, six teams will go directly from the third round of qualifications, and we can only be put in the group with one of the likes of Japan, Australia, Korea, and Saudi- with two teams directly qualifying from each of the three groups. Then in the next round the third and fourth place teams fight for the other two direct spots. Go check the format.

We will 100% qualify for the next World Cup, and also make it to the Round of 32 , as the spread of the teams will mean easier competition. Our goal will still be to make it to the final 16.

Good luck beating Russia in winter at home. Even best euro teams/clubs struggle doing this!

I checked the wcq format, it really sx that we can play only one of Japan, KSA, SK, Australia.

Instead of doing 1000 rounds with the like of Nepal and Koweit, either do one group or something where the top Asian play more often against each others, like comnebol.

We could have a nation league with 6 or 8 top Asian teams during 1st and 2nd round of wcq for the rest of Asian teams.

The priority is for top Asian teams to reach European level, not develop Palestine or Yemen level

I think it would be great to have them join, raising the competition level is good for everyone. We can also get more players into Europe from Russia too

I agree. The second round of the AFC WCQ is absolute bogus. There's nine groups of four teams, with the top two from each group qualifying to the third round... Basically almost in every group the teams from the top two pots will qualify for the next round. So Iran or Japan playing Malaysia or India is really a joke, but we gotta remember that big European teams also play Moldova, Estonia, and Gibraltar. It's up to the incompetent Iranian federation to set up friendlies, and get us invited to Copa America (which we would do very well in). But what can you expect from a bunch of over-glorified baboons?

Yeah I can just imagine those intercontinental playoff matches: New Caledonia vs Haiti. Burkina Faso vs Bolivia. Jordan vs Jamaica.

It's also interesting that UEFA has no playoff spots, only 16 direct, an increase of three lol... Blatant disrespect to Hungary/ Turkey/ Greece/ Iceland/ Norway/ Slovenia/ Slovakia/ Czechia/ Bulgaria/ Ireland, all who deserve to play in the WC

I think it is also a mistake to have big euro teams playing so much against Gibraltar (wcq and euro qualifiers : 4 times between 2 wc. Reminder, we played top asian teams only 3 times between 2 wc).

Imo, both in Europe and Asia, weaker teams should play against themselves, and only the few best of them should have to play against top teams or sub top teams

What I think makes the most sense would be to have the top 8 Asian teams pre-seeded in the third round, and have the rest fighting for the other 10 spots. But then that would decrease our games. At least in the current format we can have practice matches for our team to build better offensive cohesiveness, with the ability to play open and forward, without worries. Imagine you take those games out of our schedule, it would be a disaster trying to now use that date to maybe play a friendly against a same caliber team like Palestine or Madagascar.

I would love an Asian Nations League where we can play in groups and move up the ladder to play for a trophy against the best of Asia, just like they play in Europe

I agree with your proposal and to fill the calendar, either find friendlies (which is impossible) or Fifa find us mandatory friendlies (fifa spoke about fifa world series 2 weeks ago) or do a super league where we would play against other top asian teams

Actually, Korea didn't lose any points against Iraq. Korea tied Iraq 0-0 at home and beat Iraq 0-3 at an away game. Korea lost just once, which was against UAE at an away game.

Not getting three points from a match is losing points. With a draw, you're losing two points.
