Come back in 2057 with evidence it was fixed.
      Until then it wasn’t.

The only thing that was predetermined and ”fixed” was our failures in 2015 and 2019 AC, because we had a worthless coach named CQ.

You’re trying to find an excuse we haven’t won it in 47 years by labeling it as ”preparation/friendly cup”

AC is our only chance of silverware and we need to win it to show we’re the best in Asia.

You think a team like Argentina looks at Copa America like a ”preparation/friendly cup”?
No way. They were celebrating their victory in 2021 just as much as they celebrated winning the WC22.

Continental championships are a big deal and we must win AC23. 47 years without winning it is far too long and frankly embarassing for Iran.

Copa America is played by teams like Brazil, Uruguay, and their worst teams are Venezuela and Bolivia (teams we dream to play in friendly).

I don't find an excuse, Asian doest have 1/10 the importance of a world cup

Asian Cup is played by teams like Japan, South Korea and Saudi Arabia who defeated some teams last year in Qatar.

No one says that the Asian Cup is more prestigious than the World Cup but we are asians and therefore we play in Asia so winning the competition would be good for us. Back then the winner of the Asian Cup would play the Confederations Cup, so it was a good incentive to win it and then be able to play in a smaller World Cup format

There is no more confed cup now.
Of course we want TM to win all the games but set AC title as an ultimate objective is an exaggeration.

Iran will not win an Asian Cup nor make it past the first round of the World Cup as long as Mullahs rule our country. That is the sad reality. And frankly I never cared much for the Asian Cup. For me just alone getting to the World Cup is more worth than winning the Asian Cup.

Lol at people saying the AC is not relevant. Yes for teams like Brazil and Germany it's not relevant. For all Asian teams it's super relevant.
It's the only chance any Asian team can win.

The only team that might take it a lil less serious is Japan, mostly because they feel like they have a real chance of getting a medal at the WC. Eventhough SK might think the same, they sure as hell want to win the AC for once.

SK won the first two editions I believe.

The problem of setting AC title as a main objective will lead to the mistake of keeping the whole WC 2022 aging squad, and add some mediocre middle age IPL players that shined there (parasites like Noorafkan or sarlak). With such mistake, we will fail everywhere : not able to win the AC and will start wcq without having renewed our squad.

With a young core you won't win AC either and if things go terribly it can be a setback for TM. In sports your future generation has to be inspired by the previous. My hope is the veteran core and a few youngsters who deserve a shot win the damn thing. Then we progress and start to transition. It's what successful teams do and Japan is a prime example in Asia.

We won't win it in both case, so no need to be obsessed with the AC title. With short term objectives, we will go to AC with an overrage squad that will let TM in shambles after AC.
The best solution as you said if our core of veteran, legionnaires and our best youngsters as rotation.
I just can't believe how many wcq were wasted playing this useless Noorafkan in 50 different positions over other players.

I don't want to win AC like iraq2007 and miss the wc after. Even Uzbekistan, AC2019 semi finalists didn't even make WCq third round!

AC should be a launching pad for the next WC
