^lets be fair here, CQ, like anyone is keeping his long term options open. I recently switched jobs but was looking for over a year and interviewing etc. I certainly didn't deviate from doing my best at the current job during that process.

I cannot believe how CQ apologists excuse this behaviour. You are hired to do a job and yet same time you negotiate with other FAs?

Did it in AC and we spectacularly lost to Japan...did it in WC and same to USA. His team's in both matches lost focus. As the coach goes the team goes.

He fooled us once shame on him. He fooled us twice shame on us. The guy is a scam...that's as fair an assessment as possible.

Equating a regular job to a coaching gig is different. CQ has earned millions just from TM alone. Delaying distractions for a week is a no biggy to him. In professional sports CQ and Qatar would be deemed to engage in tampering. You don't negotiate while under contract. He got paid handsomely...he's not making minimum wage...

His contract was till the end of WC with clauses for extension. I guess it's subject to interpretation. But he genuinely had no interest in staying with TM if he and his staff are negotiating and touring in Qatar. Seems like he isn't so self-sacrificing for TM as some made him out to be.

You're signing a contract and while you may love your job and the team, you also have to keep your options open like any sane person would.

Exactly right. The evidence seems to suggest counter to those who claimed he is in love with Iran and TM. That's all I am saying. He owed us nothing, screwed us over all these years, and jumped ship to the enemy. My point is very simply this. Most overrated foreign coach ever!

He is in a much better environment and will have significantly more support than during his time in Iran, sadly for us, I think he will make Qatar very strong.

Of course to suggest this is okay, is absurd. And they start by saying "let's be fair". This is not acceptable behavior anywhere in the world. It certainly wasn't with us before CQ and fortunately it will not be after CQ. As soon as he is called a charlatan people come and give speeches. If this is not charlatan behavior I do not know what is. Absolute disregard for our result and focused on his own result which does not seem to include his success/results with our team.
