How do you even praise CQ when he got the tactics wrong in WC22! Specially against USA. The line up was a disaster too. Mohammadi! Hajsafi ! PAG (after his F*up against England), Playing both Azmoun and Sardar (injured), when you need a draw!

CQ made more errors than just that. What about not taking 26 players? Etc.etc.

But one shouldn't judge 8 years of hard work based on one game or a few errors.

He raised the level and culture of the entire professional football league and our federation. We went from a team that couldn't run over 90 minutes to a team that ran as hard as the big boys.

Tm got eliminated from wc against Nicaragua in Tehran. When torabi scored and his mother and sister was cussed out(rightfully or not that's different topic) tm got eliminated when they got boooed before the the ref whistle against England.

I was at the stadium and Iran really lacked urgency and energy that game. CQ needed to put Saman Ghoddos in from the start. Bring Azmoun off the bench (just came back from long injury).

I still believe that Abedzadeh would have been a better choice. Sure, he had that bad performance against Algeria, but wasn't he like super reliable in most cases and killing it a club level back then? People only talk about that one goal from SK, but never about his insane double save later on that same game for example.
