I don't know where this fake rumours come but make me really disappointed and sad how disgusting football can be. I spoke with CQ even last night in the phone after he be honoured in Coimbra, by his University. He is currently very busy with personal things that I am not gonna mentioned here obviously, but I come to deny any of this bullshits rumours about alzeimer. I can garanteree that Uzbekistan wanted to take CQ and start negotiating but Odil Ahmedov couldn't provide a offer cause some people inside the Federation are happy with their performance in Asian Cup; China wanted CQ but apart of very small budget, when CQ asked what is their plans to achieve the FIFA World Cup, they had no good arguments at all so CQ rejected to go forward and probably just Branko will accept to go there since they just can't afford or attract big names as they offer is 600 thousand to the next coach. About Algerie. Yes, they did a offer, and is CQ who denied for the simple reason to be busy with more important things than any money or challenge. But he will be back working soon, until June he will start working, but for now he can't do much next months and he can't take the responsibility to start working immediately. His father almost is hundred years and he have personal obligation and because of his responsibilities and another reasons he simply said no to Algerie, but sounds they can't accept that fact.
I think we all have criticisms, but nobody is perfect - for me the positives of his time outweight the negatives and he gave me a few very happy moments over decades of supporting TM
For me the sad moment was that he couldn't quite understand the political situation in Iran and the murder of Mahsa Amini and subsequent protests was not possible for him to handle.
Every poll on this forum from this one onwards has highlighted what most of us think about him as a football coach - he changed our football and we played in a way which made many of us proud (https://www.persianfootball.com/foru...ut#post3604616)
Ignore the very small number of trolls, especially those who can't even keep to their word
I hope someone like you who already knows a lot about iranian football keeps some kind of link and in the future there is a strong bond between iranian and portuguese football. I hope you can somehow help some other players move to Portuguese league eg Hosseinzadeh

Does GN do well with criticism or does he bring up shadowy figures from 2007?
Might have to readjust what you call 'allergic to criticism".
When Quieroz said Iranian football infrastructure and organization needs to improve, Khiabani took it as though Quieroz violated the holy mother of Sepandarmazgan and called for a nationalist revival
I clearly said from the beginning if he doesn't win AC he should be fired. I also clearly said that CQ legacy will not be affected by GN performance. Either GN was going to win it and be proven better, or or he was going to lose and be as bad as CQ.
Regarding criticism, you are right. I saw the interview with Misaghi and it was only excuses.
BUT at least he was man enough to show up answering questions for 2 hours. Tell me, did CQ do this?

The "BUT at least he was man enough to show up answering questions for 2 hours. Tell me, did CQ do this?" comment is funny to surreal levels, given how the guy spent more time with our interviewers than any other national coach we had - The two long navad sessions he spent with Ferdosipour after Asian Cup 2019 and the interviews he had with many other domestic journalists over two weeks (not two hours), and how he answered every question posed to him as a direct comparison
Compare with a previous coach who didn't return to Iran for anything and escaped straight to Croatia without a word to the media
Rest of pfdc members, there has to be a limit to the this guy's trolling, surely? When just making things up all the time doesn't become funny any more, but just becomes a little bit sad...?
