Russian national team will play with Iran in Tehran


The national teams of Russia and Iran will play a friendly match on Thursday, March 23. The meeting will be held in Tehran at the Azadi Stadium and will start at 20:30 local time (20:00 Moscow time).
The game will be played with spectators. Tickets for the guest sector for fans of the Russian national team will be available from March 20 on the website of the official ticket partner of the RFU Kassir.ru.
The last time the teams met in 2017 and drew 1:1, Serdar Azmun and Dmitry Poloz scored goals. A friendly match in 2011 in Abu Dhabi ended in a 1-0 victory for Iran.
The Iranian national team is ranked 24th in the FIFA rankings. The team played in the group stage of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, where they lost to England (2:6) and the United States (0:1) and defeated the players from Wales (2:0).
Earlier, the head coach of the Russian national team announced the final composition of the team to participate in the March training camp and games. The list includes 29 players.
