Head to head, we lost to Australia and they have a better goal difference. Why on earth does their performance against Qatar get discredited? This format makes no sense. Australia clearly had the best result in the group.

excellent point. That’s why I think the route guys like Sardar, JB, Ezzie, Rostami took is the way to go. Once you turn 18, go to Europe and play in some small country, or sign a u21 contract with a bigger club. Cut your teeth there for a couple of years and then look for a bigger move by the time you are 23/24. It so sad to see a guy like Barzegar come back home so quickly. The kid is still so young AND TALENTED, but is going to get wasted in the IPL.

"This is a totalitarian system whose presence people feel in their blood and in their flesh on a daily basis. And it’s one that does not grant freedoms of any kind, or accommodate people’s demands in any way. What is increasingly clear is that there is clear demand for change in the regime. What the people want is regime change, and no return to the past. There is a very real possibility of regime change." - Nasrin Sotoudeh

watched some of the game on replay ...
it's praiseworthy that boys seem intent on moving the ball via passing (rather than too much bodo bodo va khoreh-bazi, which is most common amongst younger footballers), however Poor Movement W/O the ball and some horrid touches and way too frequent inaccurate and piss-poor weighted passes are killing our flow ..!!
still we often show good team structure in possession and w/o it, which is commendable job of the coaching crew..!!
still there are times when facing pact defenses where we would need our boys to take on their immediate markers off dribble in order to create a dangerous opening on the opponents goal ..... similar to how we scored the 2nd goal today where the guy with the assist imo, should be rewarded with the most praise for the goal that broke the game for us..!!
who do we face in the next round ...? we know yet..? when is it..? kiri middle of am times again..?

If we end up qualfying we'll be for sure not in the same pot as Israel. They are guaranteed to be in pot 4. We would be probably in pot 3.
The chance having Israel in our group would increase if an Asian team makes it that did not qualify for any editions from 2011 onward. That team could end up in pot 4 and the chance of getting Israel would increase to 1:5 = 20%

Everything is going according to plan so far. We won the group (as expected) and the Australia loss didn't mean a damn thing.
Remember both Spain & Argentina had a loss in the GS before going on to win the WC, our boys can do the same in AC.
However, the boys are still playing at only 40-45% of what they're are capable of. We need at least 60-65% to comfortably beat Iraq.
The real tournament starts in the semifinals.
Hopefully our boys can keep their composure throughout this tournament and play better with each game.
Our boys are good enough to win this tournament.Esteghlal 💙💙
