Arab anti-football tactics are honestly such a shame. It is pretty crazy that this is a known way they try to cheat, and I have never seen a referee correctly try to stop and address it during a match. They ruin the beauty of the game each time, sad to see how little pride they have when representing their country's to do this.

Realistically, we can beat any of the teams listed easily except S. Korea, Japan, Australia and Saudi, so I don't care what group we get. Some teams in pot 4 are pretty much amateur teams so that can be a warm up game to test tactics & totally indifferent about them. A couple of teams in pot 3 are noticeably better than the majority, so that is the wildcard. And Pot 2 is pretty even, except for China being the weakest of the bunch by a large margin.

tldr; Taremi will stay in Porto.
In that case they won't buy any african players because of Africa Cup of Nations . But I agree with you,AFC should've scheduled the games for Nov-Dec like europe and south american teams.

It should have been in the summer.

And you're right about African countries. Some European clubs specifically avoid African players for that very reason.

I don't think uzbekistan or even oman are weaker than Saudi/Korea and I also don't think we will lose to them, but I do feel we will lose/draw to a weaker team which will be a huge wake up call for us.

We will end up losing to some lower ranked team like Oman , China or even syria.

Summer in qatar? It was initially scheduled for summer 2023 in china but they obviously f*ked up the whole the plan and afc had no choice but to give it to qatar, a country who hosted multiple major tournaments.

That's the inherent risk. Yes, most coaches will play more offensive and it means we might score more goals against the POT 2-4 teams, but it also makes the chance of a 1-0 smash and grab loss so much higher.

Yes, I’m saying it should have stayed in China, or moved to a country that can host in the summer. Of course we are dealing with AFC so planning and decisions are whatever a few countries write on a napkin.

I do understand what you saying bro, but lets be realistic here. China backed out 1 year before the competitions start date. You need at least 2 years of prepration for this competition and the only country who was already prepared was Qatar. Even Japan and South Korea weren't prepared for Asian Cup.

I think the best decision was giving it to Qatar, however the games should've played in november and december. Also if you think about it, Qatar is an advantage for us.

A.) We already played there in world cup so we know how it feels like playing there.
B.) its close to our country and our fans can travel there easily.
C.) Our players are used to the weather and climate . South Koreans and the japs would find it harder to cope with the weather conditions.

Over all I'm happy with this decision and we will deffo have a fan advantage over south korea , australia and japan.

Honestly the group stage in AC is so forgiving just like the Euros now.

The 4 out of 6 best third place teams also go through. There's no excuse for us to not finish first in the group but regardless, if we go through we go through and then have to switch to knockout stages.

Our team always lacks consistent discipline. It's not out of the realm of possibility that we get a group of Iran, Iraq, Bahrain, India,, get 3rd.. end up playing and beating Australia/Saudi in R16 and QF but then losing to Qatar in Semis.

Yes true but remember that we need to rest some players as we have always been hit by physical fitness of our players. So I hope for some easy teams, so we can rest key players in last game.

This might be too early but I have a feeling uzbekistan (Katanec is a decent coach) will win it this year. If not Japan.

                            Kryg Republic
                            Hong Kong

Easiest group for us. UAE is hot garbage
