Realistically,
1) Do you genuinely see IR Iran winning AC? We are talking about footballers who are as angry with each other as they are with themselves at the moment.
2) Who would you ever see managing team melli? We were lucky to have Queiroz who had a bond with the players and came back to at least give us 3 points in a WC I expected 0-1, why would anyone even consider managing this team at the moment?

Ghalenoei is by far the best potential option for the current iranian football team in the current political situation.

I don't think it will be the end of Iranians coach in TM if GN fails. Quite the contrary, I expect more or less the same trend than after 2006 : less and less legionnaires, less visibility for TM outside to even being considered by decent foreign coach, a worse political and economical situation.

galenoie was tm hc for 17 matches.
His ONLY DEFEAT was 4-0 against Mexico, in a match he didn't want tm to play, their flight was delayed if people remember , getting stock in airport.
his pk shoot out defeat against sk counted as draw.
