It's a very common practice among persian man
to have multiple wife's at the same time.....Islam allows 4 regular wifes and 40 sigeh wifes.In villages and in shahrestanha having multiple wifes its a very common practice. Up to 60 years ago it was very common for all 4 wifes live in same house.
. Since they start writing wife names in the bc it made life harder for persian man to get 2nd 3rd,4th wife, since condition to get a second wife ,need permission from first wife, and so on and so on...so because of that 40 sigeh errrr unlimited sigeh becMe more popular...plus a sigeh wife is not allowed to have inheritance, and can have 99 year sigeh contract with out being registered in the bc...
yes foolad jan what is laughable for me and you living outside of iran, it's common practice for people like javad nekunam, which is very normal and acceptable thing to do in the last 400 years, since safavid dynasty, which changed iran from sunni to shia..
