Mohebi impressed me second half - really involved.

I didn't recognize a lot of these players.

A couple players like Miranchuk, Golovin and Dzhikiya missed this match. Russia are in a transition period and I think the lack of international exposure starts to take a toll on them. Their clubs can't compete in European club competitions anymore plus the national team is stuck playing friendlies with Asian teams. And as long as they don't have anything to play for they'll find it hard to reach their best level. How can you be motivated when you don't know when your next competition or qualfying match will be?

Iran played well but there is no doubt that this Russian team looked very light and we shouldn't "celebrate" a 1-1 draw against them at our home.

This match made me think if Russia were to join the AFC their level would certainly decrease.

This Russian team is full of players with not a lot of caps.

I don't know if this is their main team.

I think they're missing their 2 star players (one in France, and one in Italy).

They're in the midst of a huge transition. Not being able to play in UEFA is also already starting to f*** them.

Their best upcoming player was actually in the game (Arsen Zakharyan). He was supposed to go to Chelsea, but the war on Ukraine wrecked that.

I agree with you. Zakipour surprised me. PGL is full of stars, much better than benchwarmers in Europe.

I am not a fan of defensive nor offensive focused formations and tactics in football... to me football should be played as fluid as possible and every player should have a role in defense and offense! That is modern football!

I don’t understand this zakipour love. He made 2 crosses. One was too tall for Mehdi and the other one was hit too hard, but he got lucky that Amiri was so wide out of the play that he was able to play it back. I don’t think he played enough to be properly graded, but this overflow of love is ridiculous.
