Baba CQ was hired to bring us to new heights, he failed. That’s keeping it simple.

We had been in the WC & failed to make it to R16 before CQ. Did he manage to change that? NO

We had failed to even reach the AC-final in 39 years before CQ. Did he manage to change that? NO

A self proclaimed top 10 coach took us nowhere despite getting 5 chances to do that. He got more chances than anyone else in our football history.

We did nothing but waste our time on CQ.

yeah man you’re trolling hard if you’re talking about hat trick of world cups and can’t even acknowledge that hat trick of world cups didn’t even exist before CQ came around.

In 2014, after not making it to the World Cup in 2010 cycle, the goal was to make it to the World Cup….not go to the WC and advance from the group. Sure that was a good stretch goal but it was not an expectation.

2018 WCQ’s was the easiest, smoothest WCQ campaign in our history. Beat rivals SK both times and topped the group in back to back campaigns. Never did we dominate another Asian giant the way we did SK by beating them 4 consecutive times….go look at our record vs any other Asian giant (Japan, KSA, Australia) we have never had an era where we continuously beat one of them and maintain the Home ranking for 6-7 years both in FIFA and actual WCQs.

if you looked at that 2018 group and told yourself Iran needs to advance no excuses….then again, you’re trolling or don’t understand the reality of Iranian footy and everything that comes with it.

as for 2022….again, if you can’t understand the most simple and basic realities of the situation that we were in and had it as an expectation to advance….same as above.

as for AC performances sure you can criticize him for 2019. I think it’s a bit harsh to bc at the end of the day, the players lost focus and were trying to argue with the ref rather than play the game. I guess some of that is on CQ, I can accept 2019 as his failure. But that failure doesn’t trump everything else above about the clear and obvious ways in which we progressed under him.

I spent THOUSANDS of dollars to watch Iran in Qatar. I watched every one of their games and was absolutely embarrassed at how half of the Iranian “fans” there were booing team Melli. It was a disgrace, and the 6-2 loss and loss to USA didn’t make things any better.

since the World Cup , I have been a lot less active in following team Melli and also commenting on this forum. It seems a moot point ti keep beating the dead horse and supporting a team that obviously has tremendous problems at home to worry about football, nevertheless actually being successful.

I don't want to say 100% dark days but we're heading in the wrong direction.. This is looking just like Ghalenoei's first stint when he took over for Branko.

Compared to 2019 AC, I have very little expectations for TM in the AC. I think we will advance to knockout but likely lose that first knockout game.
