U17 played much better than the crap with saw from TM and u23. Congratulations to them and to Afghanistan btw.

We usually do good at u17. I guess it is due to players not totally reaching their adult height/weight and us being slightly advantaged + less structured play in u17 competition. Also huge work by FC kia.

After u17, we completely fk up all with a Bermuda triangle from u20 to u23 or u25.
Injuries, bad career choice, IPL incompetency to develop and promote players and send them to Europe
its honestly mainly the 3rd. Injuries and bad choices happens to a sizeable proportion of top youth talent everywhere, thats not exclusive to us.

Our league is shit and nobody plays young players until they become middle aged players (24/25).

Thats why u17 is the most crucial age group imo. It gives the players a chance to completely circumvent the PGPL pipeline (AKA shitfest).

This team is more talented by far than chamanian age group, much more well rounded.

What we saw from that group was good organization and a solid counter attack system headed by allahyar, delfi, hosseinzadeh.

This age group has technique and passing rhythm in the full back/cm/wing positions that we never saw from that team. And they have a real presence up top with Kasra, and a great forward option off the bench with ghandipour.

As for Yemen or thailand, it should not matter to us. Play like we have been playing throughout the tournament (even Qatar game where 1 goal would have almost certainly yielded 4 or 5 soon after) and yemen wont be an issue.

If I remember well, Euro teams can't buy under 18 players, leaving our players to at least 1 or 2 years in the IPL waste. Our clubs (maybe except kia) will then play their jail role in case we are lucky euro club are still interested and players not hypnotized by qatar or pp/ss hype.

About injuries and bad choice, yes it happens everywhere, but our prospect pool and the lack of euro interest (worsen with the sanctions) require us to an almost perfect combo

these guys are currently 17 and will be 17 in november too for WC. From then until their 18th birthdays will be just a few months.

The best ones will get picked off then depending on their WC performances.

HC abdi with southgate, capello during his years in england.

Hossein abdi got his UEFA pro license from English FA (7 year program) and was on the staff of england u17/18 sides as part of his coaching education there.

During this time he worked with the very well respected John Peacock, who was england's u17 coach from 2002 to 2015.

Subsequently he served as Perspolis assistant under hamid derakhshan and was considered strongly for PP head coaching job.

and delfi (PSV trial, charleroi offer), hosseinzadeh (who got offered cordoba contract but tore ACL shortly after WC).

Shariati also got an official offer from villareal after that WC...

and frankly those were the only 4 guys on that team ke mali boodan so to speak, none of the other amounted to much at all, at max rotation players for midtable PGL sides. Their strength was in their fitness and tactics, both provided by great head coach Chamanian.

This team is much more loaded.

                      abdi post game.

He makes excellent points about what the goals are at this age group and how young players need to be treated differently and most of all truly enjoy their football to be successful.

That Under 17 World Cup team , that had Allahyar, Delfi, shariat, etc..

all those players need to look out for themselves, and can’t let the fame get to them , basically Delfi ruined himself, the one thing you have to realize is they Iran is a closed country unless these players are extremely strong once they go to a European country and see how free it is some of them loose themselves if they aren’t committed to football 100% , but also have a management team looking out for them and the ppl they surrounded themselves matters as well ,

Young talents development is big mystery in almost every sport , i been following ice hockey closely in over 2 decades and it is exactly same thing. You see many players who goes top, ex: 3rd overall in nhl entry draft and can't manage to play more than 100 games in big league!
That is why kids like Delfi, Shekari, Mehdikhani, Taha, etc fail to develop as everyone expect!

I tell you why bro they don’t take their career serious enough , they train just enough to be in the team but never enough to shine ,. Case in point , the best player we have now Taremi wasn’t even playing regular for shah in busher, he barely made it to Persepolis was over looked for the World Cup in Brazil, we was invited to a camp , CQ , irregardless if you like him or not had a professional mindset, he told the players you need to be a professional 365 days a year , you can’t any time off if you want to be great or reach the best of your potential, some players listened and others actually did it , Taremi was one of those few that did that , once he put his career first before everyone and everything he exploded….

look at this weak tokhmi tourment out of all the players we had only one players played every single games 90 minutes only one it was Taremi ….why ?
