Nima Andarz is a huge presence for this team. Solid defender but a incredibly explosive and confident on offensive end, drives the ball forward with power you wouldnt associate with anybody in this age bracket. He is from Kia and scored 1st goal. Our best RB prospect in a while.
Another great half by Esmail Gholizadeh from sepahan. Great first touch and dribbling ability, lovely assist for the second goal with backheel.
the CM razzagh also from kia had a good half, covers huge amount of ground and good technically/physically.
This was the best performance i saw from a TM in years... eyval.
So organized off the ball, but not sitting too deep, excellent press on the right triggers, immense in 50/50s, loose balls.
On the ball: Purposeful short passing, quick interchanges, combos down the sides, using Kasra's speed and presence up front as quick release. 1v1 potential and touch of Gholizadeh and Nima Andarz on the right side was scary.
Physically they bust their ass for 90+ mins and really wore out the koreans.
even down to the last minutes they were still creating great goal scoring opportunities and keeping the ball well, getting full backs forward.
They have huge potential...Now they will face yemen in QF. Win guarantees them spot in the WC in november.
People talk shit about our teams whenever possible but Korea is a serious youth program and these guys, and especially their coach abdi, and the club coaches from kia, sepahan, foolad in particular who are the backbone of this team deserve major credit.
Well known scout is imppressed by Esmaeil Gholizadeh.
"This is a totalitarian system whose presence people feel in their blood and in their flesh on a daily basis. And it’s one that does not grant freedoms of any kind, or accommodate people’s demands in any way. What is increasingly clear is that there is clear demand for change in the regime. What the people want is regime change, and no return to the past. There is a very real possibility of regime change." - Nasrin Sotoudeh
Second goal iran scored was so nice. The way the ball hit the top right corner was so satisfying. Haven’t seen our men’s team score a goal like that in a while especially off the wing. I wish we had more wingers who could pull stuff like that off. Having 2 world class strikers is awesome but it results in a lot of boring goals

Is yemen a real threat or Thailand would have been better (more open play and smaller player vs arab bazi)?
U17 played much better than the crap with saw from TM and u23. Congratulations to them and to Afghanistan btw.
We usually do good at u17. I guess it is due to players not totally reaching their adult height/weight and us being slightly advantaged + less structured play in u17 competitions. Also huge work by FC kia.
After u17, we completely fk up all with a Bermuda triangle from u20 to u23 or u25.
Injuries, bad career choice, IPL incompetency to develop and promote players and send them to Europe
