supposedly transfer fee was >$ 2 millions. IF true no way euro team would match that, foolad of course cashed in.

I would not be so quick to judge him personally. If he cements himself as a starter in Al Sadd as a 20 year old and continues getting TM calls and some apps he is still well positioned

He’ll be called in the cafa cup and probably play the next few friendlies if he doesn’t drop horribly in form.

His new coach doesn't have much of success in his long CV...but he was assistant coach at Man City recently... brought in when Arteta left! The guy has coached all over the place...Spain, Chile, Japan, Colombia, China, Mexico, Qatar.

The coach is a journeyman but he might hook up our boy with some good connections.

Foolad match vs Hilal in ACL was the turning point for him in his young career so far, both in club and NT level.
He really played a solid game both defensively and offensively

Isn’t TM-U23 also having a training camp during cafa cup? I think he will get invited to U23.

Friendlies/cafa don't block national team switch I think.

Nushe junesh. Realistic next moves are Ghoddos to Malmo, Taremi to Al hilal and Azmoun to Fenerbahce

Foolad got 2,5 Million Euros for Hazbavi.

I think many forget that our best talents went from Arab countries to Europe, Karimi, Taremi ............ i am sure all Sadd is 100% better for his future.

PSGman#19 I dont think Taremi will ever go to Al Hilal and Azmoun to Fener in the next 2-3 years.

Time will tell but with our players every underwhelming transfer is realistic.

And yes our best players went there, I think not only they wasted valuable time there which put a ceiling to their euro career but set the wrong model that every Iranian players with potential has to join qatar/uae sometimes during his prime.
I think we are the only top30 countries to have such phenomenon

2.5 million for a 20 year old is very hard for an Iranian club to pass up. Makes sense they allowed the transfer.

yeah bc we have a league that doesnt even have HD cameras (or in some cases even SD..), there is no wyscout footage, and we watch with our own eyes the level of play degrade year after year.

All of our transfers that involved people going directly to europe from iran had a few commonalities:

                        1. Connection of known foreign coach for reference

                        2. Younger players that played in youth WC where scouts are lined up to take anything with a shred of potential for little to no transfer fees.

                        3. Free agent that foreign teams could afford taking punt on

Now this kid, for his tremendous talent, was in the unlucky position of having none of these opportunities. He has also only played 15 senior matches. How can we expect any euro team that had interest to match a $2.5 Million offer from Al Sadd, and how can we expect Foolad who raised this player since age 7 to pass up on that sort of money that if reinvested properly could produce another 10 hazbavi's...

He now will go play for a guy who was Pep's assistant just a couple years ago, with Matheus Uribe, Guillherme, Cazorla, and Wolfsburg fix LB. He can show himself more in ACL, and within a couple years if he does not get satisfied, lazy he is still at an ideal age for good euro move (22,23), with much better contacts and a much more polished record of senior football.

Is it a great move? No, of course it is disappointing every time a player of ours has to go to this shithole, but this is our reality. We have a history of players that have proven it does not mean the end of euro moves.

As for comparison to Ghayedi I don't see it. Ghayedi always had a shitty mentality and physique, decision making, work ethic that wouldn't last 2 seconds in any reputable euro environment.

I agree with some points there. We could have hoped some connections working from Charleroi, to some ex IPL (portimonense coach) to Taremi e. g suggesting him to some portuguese coach (like Azmoun did with Ezza in Russia, shojaei neku Ansarifard in spain and Greece). Or even let dream Moshiri having a zero risk move with a cheap young player.

Anyways, I don't see where were the connections for IPL transfer to Santa Clara, to trabzonspor..

I don't find IPL getting worse btw, I was quite surprised recently to see something looking like to football unlike before. But with all the problems IPL have, Iran WC win against Wales showed the world we have potential and capable players. No need to having heavy scouting, HD data to find Hazbavi is the biggest fifa top 24 young talent

the connections for majid to trabzonspor involved him having 2 phenomenal matches at a mens world cup vs Spain and Portugal...that moves the needle. Same for amiri move (and he had good history of TM apps before that as well). Ezatolahi + Shekari were players that Berdyev had his scouts on at TM youth WC's, not sardar giving rec lol.

Santa Clara moghanlou deal was maybe the only without connection/without TM/Youth TM history transfer to europe in recent years. And they paid nowhere near what a team would need to have paid to match Al Sadd's offer to foolad for Hazbavi.

Foolad basically got a great opportunity to cash out on a homegrown young talent, they took it quickly and knew none of his euro suitors would come close to matching the fee.

Yeah that is a key point...the transfer fee must be a record for an Iranian without European experience.

this really is the biggest point of concern ..!!

i hope his agents negotiated a reasonable exit clause which would vastly help facilitate an exit to EU otherwise, they really fked this kid over ...!! i mean not many semi decent EU clubs could woo arabs to let go of a player on long contract with $$$, so that longasss contract length will become a huge stumbling to a premature departure to a more formidable eu league..!
