That's sad iranian football is working like that.

Edit : just saw Zahedi is younger than Azmoun and much younger than Taremi. What a shame..

i agree with you in essence that this assbackwards transfer, indeed sets a very bad and dangerous trend for our younger and hopeful future footballing stars...!! :/

such Regressive Trends are the sort of garbage that i feared the most for our football when we resorted to go back to our lazy short-sighted, old ways by hiring of that PGL dinosaur of a coach GN..!!

GN just speed up this disastrous trend, but it started before :

Players coming back very early from Europe and specially Portugal/Belgium + basically only Taremi did the job in Europe this last years & sometimes one or two others max here and there. The others didn't do much and destroyed what we were building. Before GN, Skocic (and even CQ at time) rewarded some IPL overrated player over legionnaires like Zahedi.
Sanctions and WC22 didn't help at all either.

In addition to being Iranian, Zahedi unfortunately has a history of doping. That shit follows you around, especially if you’re Iranian. Wouldn’t be surprised if that was used as a mark against him anytime he tried negotiating with other European clubs.

he’s also been making next to nothing in Iceland, Ukraine and Hungary. He wants to make some money.

            this!

I respect his hustle and for trying very hard to make it work. He got to play in EL competition and for the majority of his time there he shined/stood out. He comes back to his boyhood club a grown man and ready to serve…..I think he will have a big impact and get a nice role in TM as well if he is able to do so.

I have no doubt that if he does as well as I think he might, that then europe will always be an option for him as well.

He was getting interest from Shakhtar before the war, aswell as Rio Ave. I think the doping thing is exagerrated.

About him getting back to Europe after joining PP, I don't think so. A come back to IPL is like the cimetary of all Euro hope. Only exception is some party bazi or league he shined (Ukraine in his case)

Zahedi is good signing for PP. They badly needed new CF and this guy is motivated, capable, still young. For him scoring vs big saudi opponents will honestly be more impactful than whatever he was doing in hungary. Torabi, Omri, Zahedi will be a great front 3.

With Kanani, Khodabandelou signings PP really taking shape for good ACL run.

Unlike Zahedi, Hosseinzadeh is too young to give up the European dreams.

It's a shame he's mixed up with the Bayats, so I guess his options are limited.

Well said Nokhodi jan. His salary in all three countries was peanuts! I'd rather a move to Persepolis than Qatar tbh...
