Go then and watch wcq 2016/2017 for wc 2018, they had 0 shorts on goal and got dominated the whole game, yes thank god for Youtube 😁.

And sports is about to WIN and SK failed to WIN against us for 17 years in 90min
That was when we had a proper coach who knew how to defend and counter.

Right now, they'll outplay us badly.

Japan will not choke. They will get to the final. Might have some hiccups along the way but they will pull through and get it done.

Japan though....I will be adopting a losers mentality

That's just not true though - by quite literally any metric one can think of

I get that you enjoy being contrarian but please don't just say random things just to troll, thanks

Would have agreed with you in 2022 but not in 2023 when two Koreans are top 5-6 goalscorers in England and they have two defensive rocks whereas we have a player whose rock is in his pants when on his phone in autoboos

Let's hope I'm wrong and that under Klinsmann the quadrupling of the team's value over 12 months with 7-8 players coming of age at exactly the same time becomes nullified by his shitness as a coach.

A team reaching the semifinals of WC is not better than a team getting their asses handed to them within 30 minutes in WC R16, by ”quite literally any metric on can think of”?

              Please stop trolling, thanks.

SK are definitely more beatable than Japan.

Even with their PL goalscorers and Kim Min Jae as CB.

It's up to the coach to have a delineated plan meaning not "hame hamleh bekesh ziresh ya hazrate....." or "hame defaa be defaye Qods o CQ"

When they defend they should know what to do and when they attack they should know what to do. Specifics.

I wonder if this thought has ocurred to anyone on Team Melli staff at all... but Saudi tends to have Japan's number especially in WCQ getting multiple 1-0 wins over the years.

Analyzing their games might reveal a way for us to unlock Japan

Making it to semi finals by rigging a tournament and getting sketchy calls in your favor DOES NOT mean 2002 team was better. How can you blindly ignore such obvious facts? Lollll πŸ˜‚

Dr strangemoosh has a valid point.

Just look at their squad now and the quality of the leagues their players play in.

I also wonder sometimes whether you're just trolling to contradict others b/c you constantly lack logic and context in your arguments.

Guys i'm not talking even about the world cup but the relative squad strength of Korea then and Korea now isn't something which is debatable - just check where the players were based, their club performances, their MOTM and TOTS awards over 12 months, the relative value of the team compared with other nations. I mean just compare Korea 2022 to Korea 2023 let alone 2002 with 2023. ...

Also, got to say that if you were only 10 years old for the 2002 world cup then maybe you hadn't quite reached the levels of amazing "thE cHZINS are OFffF - WE WILL WIN TIHS" football analysis you have in the present day....

The problem with some of you is that you make football more complicated than it is lol. His point is not valid If it doesn’t translate into results.

Football is a simple sport( score more than the opponent) and only about results, but you don’t get this it seems, and instead you troll.

A semifinal is better than a R16, end of story.

But the topic we were discussing wasn't the team success in tournaments?

I don't get the changing the topic and almost sealioning what specifically is being discussed.

Success in world cup is amazing and korea 2002 team did really well, that isn't the subject though

Lol how are you supposed to compare two teams while leaving out the MOST important metric which is results in the biggest tournament known as the World Cup?
It's not sealioning bringing that up. You can do better than this lol.
