Group D: Oman, Kyrgyz Republic, Malaysia, Chinese Taipei/Timor-Leste.
Group E: Iran, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Hong Kong China/Bhutan.
Group F: Iraq, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia/Brunei.
Group G: Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Tajikistan, Cambodia/Pakistan.
Group H: UAE, Bahrain, Yemen/Sri Lanka, Nepal/Laos.

We got one of the tougher groups. Uzbekistan will be itching to beat us in one of them. Thankfully the top 2 go through but we absolutely need to aim for top spot to send a message.
Turkmenistan was a gorbeh sia for us but we managed to beat them the last time out. Important thing is to take our chances and not be wasteful with aimless crosses. We tied them in Turkmenistan for that exact reason. We are physically equal to them so we should focus on letting our better technique do the talking.
Hong Kong has not really changed much compared to when we played them before. They do not have a prolific striker, mostly inexperienced side(only 2 players with more than 50 caps). They have a couple of naturalized players centrebacks, one of them being 39 years old. We should be flooding them with attacks.Have to clean up our defense so on counters they can kill off the attack when exposed.
Playing Uzbekistan is always on a knife edge but I want to think playing against them already gives us an idea of how to improve our weaknesses. At least, thats what I hope GN gets from it. The only good part is that I would expect Uzbekistan to cleanly beat Hong Kong/Turkmenistan(no guarantees obviously) so at least qualifying to the next round just means beating Hong Kong and Turkmenistan in a home and away.

Underestimate no one but play to win.
Qatar kuwait
Japan Syria
S.k China
oman kyrg
iran uzb
Iraq Vietnam
Ksa. Jordan
UAE. Bahrain
Australia. Lobnon
Uzbekistan is probably strongest tier 2 team but the rest of group is easy. Qualification is guaranteed and will be a battle for first instead. As long as Taremi-Azmoun play we are fine
I would have preferred a weaker group, for the new coach after GN (hopefully) can test new young players.
With Uzb in our group and Turkmenistan not that easy, +pressure in Iran to finish 1st, I fear we are going to rely on the same old players

U forgot to mention pfdc direct pressure and influence on tm😀
The key here is winning the first 2 games
we beat Hong Kong and Uzbekistan, we pretty much guarantee a 1st place finish the group isn’t hard , but we still need to win it so that we are seeded for the next round , based of the way the groups are the next round we pretty much avoid Japan and Australia, if nothing changes with the rankings be then.
so
most likely final round will look like this
Group A
Japan
S.Korea
Iraq
Uzbek.
Bahrain.
Palestine.
Group B.
Iran.
Saudi.
UAE.
China
Syria.
Kyrgyzstan
Group C
Australia
Qatar
Oman
Jordan
Vietnam
India
With regards to rankings, I saw that you guys are underestimating North Korea, Malaysia and Palestine. North Korea is a speedy team who play defensive football they usually win over Arab teams. Malaysia has several naturalized footballers, the current players are very tall and physical. Palestine is improving, capable of defeating Lebanon.
Also it seems that Team Melli's last friendly will be just before the first match in Asia Cup. I looked at FIFA calendar for 2024 and for each month in FIFA window, teams can only play 2 matches. Well teams can play more matches but only 2 will be counted for FIFA rankings. Also knowing that clubs in Iran refuse to release players for national team matches outside the FIFA window, that means next year the only matches Team Melli will play after the Asia Cup will be the World Cup qualification matches.

It is basically the same kind of wcq group we had for the previous wc. Dont understand why people say it will be easy as we have a domestic coach and less and less legionnaires
Rofl with our luck and the world hatred towards us, all Iran games will be placed in Mexico, just wait 😂👍🏻
I don't think there is any chance of them scheduling TM games in LA, SF , Toronto or even Vancouver.
My prediction, it's either Guadalajara, Jalisco or Monterrey, Nuevo Leon. If we do get placed in the US, it will probably be some far off place like Atlanta or Kansas City,
