Honestly AFC fk us again. They have 8 spots but choose a format where we can easily get fked and miss the qualifications.
Honestly the like of Iraq or Uzbekistan can easily finish above us. Today we can rely on our stars to do the job, but the day after things will be another story, specially if Uzbekistan get their golden generation

It's possible for gaavbandi like always but I think the three group model shields us a bit. Team Melli always does better in a league format than elimination.

Like oracle says the third and fourth place teams go into 2 groups of three. The winner of each group goes automatically into the world cup.

If we cant get first place in a group of Iran, Kuwait, Lebanon we dont deserve to go to the World cup.


EVEN THEN if we get 2nd place in that group we have another shot through Intercontinental playoff.

Its incredible that it keeps having to be said despite empirical data that exists.

We fumbled vs Turkmenistan before.

A forward thinking program pours what it can into beating Turkmenistan both times. That would would assure us qualification and two games vs Hong Kong and Uzbekistan where we can experiment and get some new blood to prepare for qualifiers next round.

depends where the games are played. Ideally we would like to have TM play in LA, or even Santa Clara Levi stadium where we can easily pack the whole stadium, but we know that's not going to happen. Realistically, we'll probably play in the Estadio Guadalajara, where our fans can mingle with the Guadalajara Cartel

In the US/Canada/Mexico the fans will be able to be actual fans(Iran or diaspora). Expect crowds. Even if the useful idiots like Alinejad protest the diaspora in US/Canada is raring for the chance to see TM.
